What Is Your Favourite Car?

Recommended Posts

I am a racer not a modeller etc. I was thinking what is my favourite car? I have a few the slot.it Alfa which rips up any technical track with an ability in tight sections that almost belies belief. The scaleautos GT one and radical which are just so easy to drive and exceptionally fast. I like NSR cars but have not yet become emotionally attached to any one of them. I have an affinity for scx cars and have no idea why as it takes a great deal of time and skill to make them go well but am closer to figuring them out.

What are your favourites and why? it could be the outstanding modelling or a car that reminds you of a place in time. Share with us what is your favourite car.

4x national champion 6x national runner up. I come second most often but my girlfriends happy.

For me it used to be Fly classic slot cars but over the last year Slot.it cars have become my weapon of choice.

Probably the Audi R8C but I just can't get enough of the Porsche 956s, such a smoooooooth slot to drive and looks to boot! :P

Favourite to look at: The latest one.

Although the SCX Cuda in Lime Green still attracts the eye to that end of the shelf.

Favourite to drive: His Lordship's SCX Morgan when he's not around. Shhh... don't tell him. I still wish I'd kept it for myself. It's almost worn out, it's done that many laps of the track. I don't know how many times the rear wing has been glued back on. Sure it's not lightning fast (well... it's still one of the fastest in the collection since the 42B was dropped in it.)

Of mine: SCX Skoda Fabia Red Bull. Again, not fast but so much fun. I've managed to get it almost unshakable and just the tiniest bit of weight in the magnet holder (about 1g - seems wrong that so little makes a big difference). The 4WD manages to drag it out of some really speccy drifts. I've got the 4x4 ProTurbo motor that I can drop into it, but that might make it less fun. Sure the Ninco's 4WDs might be faster, but the Skoda is the best $25 I ever spent.

So many good cars, and to choose only one........

I might go with the Slot.it Nissan R390.

Great to drive, very rewarding and great and look at.

The one I am driving at the moment is the black test car.

Next project will be to put some race numbers and sponsorship on it so it looks more like a race car.

Others worthy of mention.

NSR Porsche 917

Slot.it Martini Lancia

Scaly Audi R10

Ninco Lotus Exige

Its not my driving! There's a flaw in the track......

Rick, there's a Celica 1600GT in town that's been done up as the General if you want to step up in the world a bit. I know it's for sale.

Hmm, I have a couple that are difficult to chose between;

A Fly Porsche 935 (the Hawaiian Tropic one), slightly modded and a hoot to drive

A Proto Slot Aston Martin DB3S with a HRS chassis, mainly because its just porn to look at

A Revell Audi Quattro S1 with a HRS chassis, because its mental!

and any of my slot.it group C's

Funny you mention the Auto Art Sierra as I bought one a few weeks ago for a DJR Sierra project. Similar in size to a SCX so a little better than the Scaley version. The wheels are narrow and the chassis wheel wells are so narrow you won't fit much of a tire on it. I am fitting a Slot'it pod to mine and have cut away a lot of the chassis to fit decent sized wheels. It will run pretty well once I finish and I will put up some pictures as it gets along a bit. Been so busy with work that I have not had a lot of time for Slot's lately though.

I got it from a Spanish ebay for $60.00 AU landed. SCX will be bringing more out next year but the Auto Art detail leaves most for dead.

My favourite to look at would be a toss up between the slot.it Gulf McLaren F1 and the Scaley Aston Martin Gulf DBR9.

My favourite to drive would be the Fly Lola B98/10 (just eats up the corners), Slot.it Porsche 956C(so smooth to drive) or the Slot.it Ferrari 312PB (this thing is a ballistic missile and so quiet, it has been nicknamed the silent assasin. not at all easy to drive on our track but crickeys its fast)

Cheers

Gary

For me it's my NSR 917K done from a white kit. She looks great in the Lucky Strike Racing livery and after only a little time setting it up, drives very well - smooth and fast.

up until last night it was the A,art porche carrera, until the old man drove it and I whooped his ass <{not a sexual reference}, whilst I drove the Aart porche Gt3, the porche Gt3 is a litle top heavy suprising me every couple of corners while the cerrera is rock solid, the Gt3 worked well last night gaining some rank in the stables.
