fosinator
Hi i just got my PBPro/SH set up.This is awesome however i was wondering if there is an easy way to set pace cars. Last night i successfully had 2 pace cars on there own ID at separate speeds while i was racing, but i found that to get them going i have to plug into each ID run the car then pull out the control while at speed.I thought I read in the manual that if pace is enabled on an ID when the control is unplugged it would run but they dont unless i "run start "them. Just hoping I could put the cars on the track and they go without plugging in and running them. Is there an easy way? Kenny
I don't really know. I only did it once, followed the instructions and it all worked as it was meant to. Very boring for me, as you need to set all the cars, at their fastest, through your slowest corner. Suggest you just try again, it should work if programmed right. I've even tried the recorded lap thing with SSDC, but found the replayed lap not to be a very real copy of the recorded lap. I had to slow down way early into a corner, while recording, to make the replay car able to negotiate any corner. Get your mates around, and race them, It's much better!! ozquad44
FOS, if you persevering with the PB pro without the simple H power mod, forget it. Â I've got the new 6 car PB and I had six people racing cars on my track when bathurst was on the other week without the slightest power issue at all. No copper tape, three cross overs, one pit entry, no power taps, two lanes with two metres of three lanes, over about a 15m track. It was great fun. Â The day before I was looking after a young bloke when his mum had to duck out for a while. I set the Powerbase to analog and he played on the track for hours, swaping between all my cars analog and digital cars as he saw fit. Â Best $200 dollars I've spent on slot cars ever since getting into it. I'm not sure why you need to copper tape. HAve you tried inox? If I read "to get them going" bit as the problem then they won't start unless either a race starts, or, someone drives over the powerbase. Sorry for quoting myself here, but just revisited the pace car thing, and by using rather good handling cars as the pacers, and a lesser able handling one as the chaser, even with constant throttle the pace cars, it was much better. I think I'll do that more often. Cheers John Quote "S#!t Happens"
glengtl1
Hi Fosinator From memory once you have enabled pace car for an id as long as you have the controller unplugged the pace car will start at the start of a race when you start a race via the pb and also if you place pace car in front of start finish line and then cross the start/finish linewith your car you are racing then the pace car will start to move. You can set the pace speed with the contoller but i prefer to up or down the speed via pb,I run pclapcounter which enables me to change speed of cars as they are moving around cheers Glen Quote www.gtlslotcaraccessories.com
Kenny
I know 3 or 5 pace cars on their own ID's would be hectic enough, maybe not as bad as 5 kids, but is there really any limit to how many pace cars you could run? Why can't some have the same ID? Or would it be too chaotic? 3 similar cars, started spaced around the track, shouldn't catch each other too quickly. Or would it confuse the PB? Just a thought for today. Quote "S#!t Happens"
glengtl1
It does get chaotic the more you have and depends on your track size , I have 21 mtr 4 lane and 3 is enough with me racing aswell ,I make it interesting by reducing my power to 50% and i have to pit to refuel aswell, the more flowing your corners the better it is for pace car speed , the advantage for having seprate ids is lane changing on/off or if you run race with pc as you don't want every car ticking a lap for car 1 if your racing them in car 2 , this also applies to pb control aswell.and as its pbpro simple h, your not really limited to 6 cars on the track. As said before though its bad enough with six controlled cars launching in all directions, the more cars you have on track more chances of crahses stopages and delays,Best to find the amount of cars that your track handles and design a race aound that.Sometimes i dont even race just sit there gazing as the cars go past knocking back a few beers , much better when you race ya mates though.
