kalbfellp
Probably is not made any more BUT plenty for sale in retail shops! Cheaper than the starting bid! Quote Phil https://www.hobartminiaturecarclub.com/ Email
X1/9
Ummmm I don't get it I almost don't get it. From what I see he's asking for about 10 bucks more than normal price (I think). I can't see where he says "Don't Miss Out" or "Sold Out". I don't know the bloke but isn't "retard" a bit harsh?
xr8
I have bought off him and found him to be ok to deal with. I think we should all have a Bex and a lie down and leave him be. There is more to life than worrying about his selling this or that and new or not. As the old saying goes, let the buyer beware, and thats my 2 bobs worth Quote RUBBINS RACING SO HARDEN UP
smallnails
I dont think its the so much the fact that everything he sells is rare or collectible (even the new stuff) its the fact that a lot of the older stuff he has gotten off collectors around the world from various forums (posing as a collector himself) and then selling it all on ebay. I am all for a free market and non restrictive buying, but it gets my goat when he poses as a collector to get cheap cars overseas to sting Aussies for it here. It would be different if to start off with he was upfront with it all and said "i run a business, if you have any slot.it's to offload then come to me!!" That would have been fair and reasonable. I too have bought a fair bit off him in the past, but stopped when i saw what was going on.
rick1776
99% of what is sold on ebay is either not a bargain or is crap. Do your homework before bidding or pay the price. The amount of times of seen slot cars sell for more on ebay than you would pay in any hobby shop is amazing. And then you have to factor in shipping. Either people dont do their homework of they caught up in the bidding frenzy. Is they guy actually doing anything wrong. Relying on peoples stupidity to make a buck isnt a crime. If the add actually says something incorrectly then fair enough, but I couldnt spot anything wrong with the add. Quote cheers rick1776
smallnails
Nah.................thats crap rick.......................it isnt 99%, maybe 20 or 30%? Ebay is a good site to pick up cars cheap for parts! Its also a good site to pick up good cheap cars full stop, if you aren't seeing the cheap cars then you are looking in the wrong place. People also use ebay to pick up cars that might be sold out at their local shop, there is a HUUUUGE amount of slotters out there that don't even come to this site, so they wouldnt even know about armchair or the others. JRob
Must admit - Im with smallnails. There is such thing as 'ethics' - and stretching the truth in a deliberate attempt to mislead isnt right (eg. 'collectors edition'). He shouldnt be misleading people to get the cars in the first place, and there is no real reason why 'collectors edition' couldnt have been left out. So on this count I agree with gref's lovely description of him. Yet, I also agree with trying your luck - and if it wasnt for the issues discussed above, good on him for trying to get a good price. I must admit I usually look at these, say something along the lines of gref's description - adding a few of my own words - and then move on. BUT here I am giving my 2 bobs worth so I guess I care more than I think :sleep2: JRob Edited July 22, 2009 by JRob
rick1776
According to Fly any production run under 20K is a collector's edition, so is he really stretching the truth :sleep2: :sleep2: Buyer beware. Quote cheers rick1776
Cleveland
I just like the fact that how some members have only used the wanted section in Auslots but have never offered any to members in the forsale section .Not even one lousy model offered to members here and Not even a discount for postage etc. Seems ebay is more important to some people. So heres a thought, maybe some names should be banned from using the wanted section so they have to buy all there cars from EBAY also....................
