inveterate retiree

Usually not very much these days. I tend to wait for thoughts to arrive; sometimes longer than others... I have surmised that there must be some kind of obstruction that is increasing in size upstream. Why else would the throughput be diminishing?

Hi Chas
There is an organisation called The Launceston Geneology Society which should point you in the right direction. I'm 99% sure they are online. The other one to try is the State Library as they have an extensive local history section.
Brian (PS let me know if they don't work out, I may be able to chase up other links)

Hi Tazracer. Appreciate this is well off normal topic but my grandmother was born in Launceston. Her father was a convict. Have you any idea what records are held locally or know somebody who is into genealogy locally that I could ask for help. As I think I said once before if I am ever in Tassy (soon I hope) I will be hoping to visit your track.
