  1. hi ,you could use a grey primmer and put a coat of white over that then wet rub it down and put your red met on,this will give the same affect as base coat colour on real cars, the more time put into prep gives the best result, then clear coat after stickers are on,just my way off doing things.
  2. i see some interesting kits stacked up there, got some of those coming, will be builing brass chassis for them and running them as a fun class on my routed track, like those storage boxes im of to kmart,
  3. why would you put clear on decals before appling them,i would have thought this would make the decals stiff and not able to fit to contours off body, maybe clear soaked into water slide
  4. just enjoy building, thinking about what to do next
  5. mine are just simple chassis but work fine, wheels on dodge are from patto, you could fit any motor as long as it has the mounting holes in the can, just make up a mount to fit whatever motor you want,i find the nc-5 good because of its even power in these cars,i know what you mean about those other wiz bang chassis type, forgot to say wheel centres are origanal wheels from cobra amt kit machined in drill chuck to fit into patos rims,

  7. some progress pics of dodge challenger 1/25, chassis brass body with paint and some decals more to go then clear coat, fit up bumbers and others, sat on chassis for pics,
  8. currently doing a dodge challenger from amt kit,i use brass axle bushes from patto the 1/8 type as most wheels for this size use large axle, you can make your axles from piano wire, chassis design are my own ideas and i try to fit them neatly to body shape, you can get brass sheet at hobby store, get or make a building block, work out centre of wheel arches, width of body etc and work from a centre line, basic sheet metal skill is all you need and a good amagination, great way to waiste hours on your hobby,
  9. thought i might share some projects i have been working on, number one 1/25 cobra, body bfrom amt kit, flair work to body,my own brass chassis,nc-5 ninco powered number two 1/32 65 mustang, resin body, modified scaly ford focus chassis. number three 1/32 fj phato kit,mjk chassis number four 1/32, carera super bird, some flair work on body still yet to finish, spider chassis from usa with foam tyres.
  10. im with old slot on this routing would cause melamine covering to chip at edeges making a horrible mess, stick with mdf and ferrodore.
  11. hi has anyone had anything to do with pattos little ripper motor,if so what do you think of them

    1/32 Fj

does anyone know were i can get a 1/32 fj body in resin, would greatly appreciate any help,
  13. hi i have just done my bf and lowered the body by grinding down the mounts on the shell until i had the desired ground clearence, also elengate the front axle holes to alow axle to move and guide deeper into slot,i also filled the recess in the chassis body mounts so body sits ontop instead of pins fitting inside recess, use longer screws and run body as loose as possible, yuo will need to open up wheel arches for tyre clearance,i also added weight over guide and a little down each side of chassis, have no bounce but nice slide in corners, will be putting mjks on today, now its a nice car to run, only my opinion but hope it helps.
