  1. Hi Munter, Count me in for this. XE or XD I'll have either or both.
  2. Hi David, I used duplicolor Blaze Blue on mine.
  3. Good morning everyone. Sometimes life gets in the way of slot cars and right at this point in time that has happened to me. The next twelve months or so are filled with a lot of uncertainty and consequently I don't think I can commit to running the next Tasman series. With that in mind I have contacted the other original Tasmanites and I am very happy to say that Alan O'Dea or Lenny Broke to most of you has agreed to take over the running of the series. Alan is one of the Pioneers of proxy racing world wide and I know the Tasman is in great hands. I wish Alan well and hope that the support from Auslot members continues and the next series is best yet. Cheers. Alan

    John Smedley

John was a great supporter and host of our Tasman Cup series and a great man in slot cars in general. His loss is a loss for us all. Rest in Peace John.
  5. Our Tasman Cup proxy race has been a very popular series and from my point of view a series that has been a pleasure and a privilege to look after. That has been due almost entirely to our dedicated group of hosts who have, for year after year, stepped up and made a significant contribution to the running of the series and have made life easy for myself and all the competitors and entrants. Over the last couple of years the numbers have dropped a little and some of us have been having ongoing discussions about ways that we may be able to revamp or rejuvenate the series. 2019 however has been a particularly difficult year for a number of those involved. Particularly with the sudden passing of Bick Mick shortly after the series end. 2019 has also seen a number of our core group of Tasman stalwarts silently carrying the burden of their own personal issues and battles. Consequently, after having had several discussions and communications with a number of people I have decided that it may be in the best interest of all those concerned to pause the Tasman Cup for 2020 and kick it off again in 2021. Yes this may disappoint some but I have thought long and hard about it and I feel that it is the right thing to do. (It can also give us a chance to consider ways to improve or revamp the series. I will start another thread for that discussion) So for now I want to thank everyone for being part of the Tasman Cup. It isn’t the end but the start of a new beginning. And of course to those very special people, friends and mates who have become such an integral part of the Tasman I want to wish all you all the very best for 2020 and all strength to you.
  6. Thanks Phil. According to the tracking only Terry's car is yet to be delivered.. For the internationals the others have left Oz. Brumos' car has already arrived in Chicago.
  7. All the cars have been posted. Sorry for the delay, I was out of action for a few days. The Adelaide cars have all been sent to John Smedley. I will send you the tracking numbers by PM. Please let me know when they arrive.
  8. Very sad news. My condolences to his family and friends.
  9. I should have said. Please post any details here or pm via Auslot.
  10. I have the cars back from Manimmal and over the course of the next week will start packing and sending. I'll let you know which packages have been sent and the dates etc. Can you please advise when they are received. Can you also let me know if there are any special instructions or places or people where I can send multiple cars.
  11. Well we have a first. Two firsts really for the first time ever we have a tie and also for the first time we have had to apply the countback system. So from having 2 firsts we ultimately have 1 winner and that is Big Mick. Congratultions. sdeamon and John Batich fill out the podium. Thanks to all our competitors, drivers, marshalls and hosts. Without you it does not happen. Thanks to all our internationals for trekking downunder. We hope to see you back next year. To paraphrase Juan Antonio Samaranch from back in 2000........ The greatest Tasman Cup EVER Here is the countback table.
  12. The results are in. There were a few DNF's in the race. One car had a motor issue and two cars had guide issues. I haven't been able to work out the overall yet and will try to get that done as soon as I can. It may be getting quite interesting at the top. Unfortunately I wasn't able to be there today. To Chris and his helpers a big thanks for running our finale. So here it is
  13. Here are the qualifying times for Saturday's race.
  14. Mick, Welcome to the land of confusion. Over the years I have seen many things that seem to have no rational explanation. That is the joy of a proxy series. You don't know what you will get from one round to the next. By the way. A warm day in Victoria in July? Yeah right!
