So the lads got up to speed faster than I expected and I'm never going to achieve a home track advantage.
-
How about week 4, but run Cartrix as a slow class to see how it goes.
Cartrix
Classic Nascar - should be good for a nerf or two
Group 5
Ps fat guides my require some easing of the slots, and some of mine touch the bottom of the slot in places.

Happy to receive visitors this week if anyone is interested in a track clean, test, maybe a few races.
Due to the twisty nature I think a hot lap would be about 6 secs once grip comes up. I have not worked out how the per lane times will differ.
Track is running, grip is low and I think it will take a while before residual dust from the build will be totally gone.
TrackMate is going although there are a couple of things I'm not sure about. Mainly Where to put the switch to turn the track power on before/after races. At the moment it is off to start and off to finish.
-
Timing is working, need a good tidy up and it is good to go.
-
Due to the high standard of driving I'm sure nerfing won't be an issue.
Meanwhile I should stop messing around and get the timing system installed.
Mark I have the turnkey package so it should be reasonably straight forward. I think Dave knows where the track power switch goes.
Looking at 2 track call buttons but that might be later.
-
The photos don't do justice to Dave's work on this.
The quality of the work and attention to detail is truely superb.
Top job Dave, "A+" at least.

I found a couple of Cobras in my collection, I sense some clubman chassis coming over the horizon.

3 lanes running, found a bit much paint in the slots in a few places!
Pretty much in the "I'll just do one more lap" phase, followed by how will this car go?...............
Mounting places for the controller plugs ready, need a bit on a tidy up on the wiring, and a want to put the direction reversing switches in.
Then it will be lap timing and trying to get some rubber down. And controller holders- the list goes on.

Yep those slot dogs are the bees knees, my weight is always up after a visit.

My Ferrari.

One of the club guys is also running a 250 and found adding some strips of lead to the inside of the body around the door sills worked pretty well. His car is a rocket - nice low profile and almost as wide as the Cheetah.
I'll give it a try tomorrow, hopefully after I wire up a second (of 3) lane on my track.
-
I'm liking my Ferrari 250, same spec 16k motor, but clearly I can add a heap more lead!
-
Looks fabulous, awesome work.
-
After a paranoid wiring session, the centre lane is live!!
Ok probably not a horsepower track, but I'm sure I'll spend too much time on it when I'm in the shed.
-
Nice work Pedro. Sounds like the tape worked out ok, phew.
I hit it with the heat gun to be on the safe side.
-
All the braiding completed. It is looking like a track.
19.7 metres, 1/4 inch braid, equal lane lengths and my internet search says try it with out taps first. that will speed the wiring up no end.
Tomorrow I finalize where the drivers station go and get going on the final leg.
-
Two lanes braided. I'm resisting the urge to throw some wires to run a few laps..

As i had my shower, and my bung ankle, from falling off the shed step trying to multitask, (the other knee is a bit crook too), was telling me it didn't appreciate last nights marshalling, I got to wondering why I had gone out last night - with no racing, and only a bunch of dodgy old fellas for company.
What I came up with as principle motivation was "Slotdogs" !!!!
-
Not happy with the paint job,(I can only blame myself but hey painting is clearly not in my skill set), but it is all painted enough. well apart for some of the infill areas.
It will look good enough if I keep the lighting low.
I'll let it sit for a couple of days to harden off fully, then I'll start the braiding.
-
I'm happy to help marshall.

A good night at Thunder Road Raceway.
The aforementioned SlotDogs!
I learnt some stuff about car width, my E type is too narrow for my driving level. The Ferrari 250 definitely worked better.
Despite not crashing the Mosler, and up until now thinking it was going ok, I can now see areas it could be improved.
-
I'll see if I can find some relevant cars to bring, from under the building site in the shed.
-
the rules thread will need updating as well...
I've heard it all now. #crockbone
We have rules, really.

Whoops, bugger, we will have to have a re-run.
