6. Very late with updating here. Our April Newsletter is now available for viewing and for download as a PDF file; click the link below. www.slotraceshop.nz/April2020Newsletter.pdf Since that came out, we have watched the world situation for Covid-19 get worse, and most concerningly - in the countries we source most product from I haven't been in touch with Professor Motor, but everyone else reports that they and their companies are tracking well, and no staff are ill with the virus Staff are working from home in Spain and Italy. Chris of Sideways is able to access his shop and assembly place at the raceway, as well as working from home. Meanwhile, NZ and Australia are in much better than expected position for controlling community spread, deaths in NZ (and I am sure Oz), are below the levels expected under a best case scenario. We are paying a big financial price, but much less, and hopefully much shorter than around the world. In New Zealand Lock-down is extended a few more days, so shipping orders will begin next Tuesday 28th when we officially move to domestic level three. Couriers will resume collection of non-essential goods, and there will be an NZ Post agency open in one supermarket in out city. As I print postage and do international declarations online, I can also now resume shipping by Post to Australia and further afield. All customer orders received in the past few days are sitting picked, with the boxes and satchels open, for anyone who wants to add to their order. Flat rate per order until end of April of $1 to NZ addresses and NZ$10 to Australian ones. - You can choose "store pickup" for additional orders placed, so that the system does not make any additional freight charge. The best thing about yesterday's announcement was the indication that consideration will be given to whether to move down to level 2, as soon as two weeks after moving to level 3. Let's be hoping. As well as ourselves, we all have friends and family who are hurting in businesses, or loss of wages. I have been warned by Fastways/Aramex, that due to heavy online ordering of "essentials" during lock-down - their freight volume has been UP, yes UP significantly, not down during lock-down, and shows no signs of slowing. So all delivery methods may be a bit choked at the exit of lock-down, with commensurate delays.

22. Welcome to April over Easter As many of you will already have seen, SlotRaceShop has the new mobile friendly skin installed. We needed to change the site to a mobile friendly look, in order to retain Google search indexing. I still prefer the old style for desktop browsing, but life is about compromise. It came with a few bugs from the creators - actually quite a few. My own web guy has fixed several of them for me, but the menu that came with it still has some glitches we will sort ourselves. You now use either the HOME or BRANDS buttons to get to the full menu. FEATURES will take you to most of the links which were previously on the right hand side menu; and INFORMATION takes you to the remainder. Our April Newsletter is now available for viewing and for download as a PDF file; click the link below. www.slotraceshop.nz/April2018Newsletter.pdf It is also available as a link under our NEWS section - FEATURES > NEWS Especially have a read of the tune article to help set up cars for the DTM CLASSIC event we are planning for September in the Hawkes Bay The DTM Classic - a Slot.it Shootout under FEATURES > THE DTM CLASSIC Happy Easter and happy slotting everybody Mark
23. Golly, I never even put our March newsletter link up on site. - So here you go. March 2018 Newsletter Or the February one February 2018 Newsletter But the main reason for this post is; I finally got off my derrier; dug the lathe out, disassembled and removed what looked like 50 years of swarf from the innards, recalibrated, and made up some router bits with guide pin for rebating track braid. As I now make them in-house, it is easier to customise the width of bit, the width of the guide pin (3.18mm or 3.5mm), and the length of pin for any special requirements. Track production supplies, are now fully restored ROUTER BITS
24. Our January newsletter is now on our news page for download, including some great news for NZ customers. January 2018 Newsletter
25. Thanks Rusty, the brain finally kicked into gear, and I have now changed the avatar pic. - You may have to hit refresh to see it. I had just finished writing car build articles for January and Feb newsletters, when a returning customer asked for help to show his club guys how to glue and true tyres. Something I'd never done an article on as far as I can tell. . . . . . back to the work bench..... Here's the funny thing. I have some of the ozzie guys saying these kind words about my newsletter, the shop etc, - but barring a few exceptions; I have no idea of which customer represents each Auslot avatar. I'll have to start asking when I get orders from across the moat. - Mind you after that stirring slotsnz's winding up his ozzie cousins this morning they might dry up like the road to Alice . . . . . .
