  1. and it arrived today so I'm happy. OK so I had to give them a bit more dosh to have it sent by Express which meant it came by air but the regular price would have meant it came by sea. Seems like Corona has pretty much turned the clock back half a century+.
  2. Yeah, thanks dm, it's come in useful at different times
  3. Good, no, great job there rosco. I can't imagine for the life of me taking such care to make a motor bracket. If it were me it'd be a bench vice a cordless drill and a ball pein hammer and wouldn't look half as good. It won't be long before people will be lining up to get your brackets
  4. Thanks for your input guys but I think munter is on target and it's not just a regular FLY/GB track/Flyslot/Slotwings guide. I've been doing a bit more searching and I tend to believe it's a FLY racing guide. https://old.slotforum.com/reviews/flyracingreview/index.htm
  5. Hi guys, I've been fiddling around with a Pioneer Charger chassis and found this guide in my stuff and it's a nice fit in the chassis. Does any one know the make? I've had a look through different sites like Armchair and Pendles etc but can't find it anywhere. Maybe someone knows who made it.
  6. My Javelin is now a sidewinder utilizing '70 Camaro axle sets so the Javelin hubs have found a new home. Fronts are standard Javelin fare and the rears have been turned into inserts and I'm liking the looks of these on this
  7. Liking where this is going Mac and keeping an eye on it as I have one of the 60th anniversary models that needs 'improving' too ….
  8. I think you should go with your gut feeling if you want to retain the standard interior too.
  9. I wondered if the Cortina might be too cool … … Is it a bird? … is it a Plane? - http://sligosligonews.com/is-it-a-bird-it-is-a-plane-no-its-a-dick/
  10. Dunno how flash you want to go, but if you want it for soldering with "holes for pins", one of these might work for starters https://www.ebay.com/sch/sis.html?_nkw=Ceramic+Honeycomb+Soldering+Board+Heating+For+Gas+Stove+Head+135x95x13mm+Ne+L5J3&_id=302570448219&&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2658
  11. Armchair have a Scaley Camaro on special at the moment that I've not been able to find anywhere in NZ and so I've hit the go button on it today. It's only over the ditch so let's see how this goes.
  12. that's gotta be worth a click on the 'upvote' icon as an alternative to the little 'heart' icon which I don't like
  13. Or maybe you could use 'Hotlinks for forums' 2 lines below and then the pic would show on the page without needing to 'click' on it to see it, although the pic would probably need to be edited so it was no more than 800 wide so it would fit on the page, unless the new forum can handle larger photos now.
  14. Yeah, I'm obsessed with them too. My wife has fat … oh … you said "arches".
  15. It may well be a Commodore but it's not really a Holden. I think it was pretty ugly already ….. you just improved it ….. you made it cool
  16. Yippee ….. it arrived today. Thanks Grant.
  17. Nice paint Mac ….. had to strip mine and start again ….. twice!!!
  18. That's not too shabby at all for a start ….. imagine how you'll go with the training wheels removed ...
  19. What's lurking? ….. popsicle sticks, 2 motors, independently rotating wheels on all 4 corners ….. end of June? or a SCX chassis
  20. Yeah, hard to imagine, wish I knew what is lurking in there. The stiff competition are always Dave and Pat and they've got the cool side sewn up.
  21. If I put some paint on I'd get a better idea of what I was looking at and it has reacted with whatever SCX put on their Audi to drive it a few more notches up the ugliometer
  22. It's hard to make a Cortina fugly … this'll be fugly
  23. Mac, I'd like to have a crack but I do have a problem with your 1st rule. a) Does the chassis have to be the original or original replacement eg Shapeways or can it be a modified chassis originally from a different model? b) I've read a bit about popsicle stick chassis' lately and would like to have a crack at one of those. Would that be acceptable? c) I've read a bit about 2 motors in a car recently, which I think is a pretty cool idea, and I'd like to have a crack at that too. Is that acceptable? You might've guessed I'm a stickler for the rules …. unless I can bend them so what do you think?
