  1. Hey guys . Congrats to the stage and overall podiumites for this years running of the 2019/20 Proxy. My car didn’t run as well as I thought . But I’m going to blame and sack that darn navvy of mine for not getting his head out of that playboy book . The end of 2019 and going into the start of this year hasn’t been to kind to me , so really haven’t had much interest in the proxy (Snurf , scars have healed but still a bit tender) . For that , big apologies Mel for not being able to get over and give you a hand. Hopefully the next proxy will be kind to me. Again thanks to all the entrants and hosts for putting on this 2019/20 Proxy. Cheers Craig
  2. Oh well , she's a bit behind the front runners. Problem is the Metro's Is in between the 4 cars that had problems . That's a worry. lets see what the other stages hold. Thanks to you and your guys for running this round Alexis . Hopefully the Metro can see the top end some where along the way. Cheers Craig
  3. Maybe your right Mr Gunn. Maybe the car didn't know whether to tip or not to tip. That would be the question . And just on a side note Snurfy. You've got me down as driving an Audi instead of the Metro. I know it goes like an Audi but we better make it right. You would also confuse my Navvy as his heads always in a playboy book . Just hoping the times are right as I'm happy where the car is rather than where the other Metro's are. Thanks for everything mate , You doing ok. Cheers Craig
  4. Happy belated birthday mate . Apologies for the lateness . Hope you had a top day , but as I say , any day you wake up has to be a great day . Again Happy Birthday Viv .
  5. Thanks Phil for the pics. Looks like my Metro likes the more subdued tracks. In saying that the same driver and navvy have been hired again and I had to confiscate the playsboys before they were sent on there way.
  6. Good to see the cars in the wonderful Tassie weather. The rellos have some nice covers of soft light snow so if it is the same for you , will the track rubber up or tend to take a little more time to get some grip. Cheers Craig.
  7. After having a peek at the track pic , thought the Metro's may have done better. Oh well, congrats to the podium getters and to Bov for running his first proxy. Appreciate it mate. Let's see what tomorrow holds. Cheers Craig
  8. Chas , I think you meant to say , May the Metro's be with us. Martyn , if thats the excuse you are going to use for building your car , who am I to argue . As long as you didnt build it on a very sunny day when the so called wind was blowing and your pants and shirt were up on the fence if you get my FB drift. . Cheers Craig
  9. Hey Chas, yeah I'm hoping the Metro's do well.Didnt have trouble with the mudflaps . Mine has had the legs of the interior cut off to help body roll. The chassis has been trimmed all the way round with longer body screws and weighs in at a hefty 104grams all up to keep the weight lower in the chassis . We'll see how things pan out. Good to see you back in it Dave and thanks for hosting a round. Cheers Craig
  10. Hi Guys , apologies for the lateness of replies as the lastest shift change at work does not give me any time during the week to post , thus Mel doing it for me. Now the weekend is upon us I now can put up the comments list on your cars , as well as the pics. Have to thank Gaz for his help and top pics as usual and Mel for helping out and posting the stages. First the comments Charles , I think your Metro is good . The difference between mine and yours , and I havent actually seen inside yours should break the field up the top. Again alll tracks are different and hope they run well . Scuderia. Not sure what the plate is there for but did get a bit of wearing on my track . just a bit worried that on plastic tracks , if the track isn't butted up together flat , it may catch. Its only the first rnd , so anything can usally happen. Car Pic Action Just a footnote , Mel posted that this maybe the last time for Minto Rally Park . I maybe only giving up the 2 extensions I add to the main track as they are getting harder to get down from the rafters of the garage by myself and I can't keep expecting my boys to be around to help me out. I am also thinking of cutting down one of the extensions so it's easier to handle . But that's in the future. Cheers Craig
  11. Hey Ronnie , Happy Birthday mate . Hope you have a good day and have a great night with the family when you get home.
  12. Hi all , well here starts another year of Proxy Racing starting with Rnd 1 at Minto Rally Park N.S.W .Australia . At the moment it is a brisk first day of Winter at 5 Degrees with a top of around 20 degrees celsius . Track should rubber up ok. This weekend i am running the short stage , hopefully 2 or 3 stages . My track is urethane paving paint , running 10 volts and hand throttle is Slot it. There is still a couple of cars M.I A. With that , all the best to all and lets get this Proxy underway. Cheers Craig
  13. Thanks Gaz. And another year gone and still breathing , gotta be happy with that.
  14. Thanks Alexis for these 2 rounds so far. Looks as though you have the track in a under ground garage . With the weather you guys are getting you better put the wet suit on and build the track legs up a bit . Congrats to those up the pointy end on both stages so far . May have to consider lowering my standards and building a FORD next time . To many bends for my navvy to concentrate on . If he got his head out of that playboy we might be in with a chance . Just a question about why you used copper tape instead of braid. I found when my first rally track was built , it tended to tear with the difference in weather conditions and the car tyres spinning over it . It's a very demanding stage so concentration must be at a high , so no drinking of the local brew between stages . Thanks for your time and effort and have fun and stay dry. Cheers Craig P.S You may need to build a gate for the Ambo to get out if needed :P .
  15. Good to hear cars arrived ok . Have fun Simon . With a couple of new winners , there is hope for my car yet.
  16. Thanks Martyn for running this round . Well executed as usual . And thanks for the info on all the cars. Also thanks again for braiding my car up. Was disappointed they died out so quickly. Not a good sale for Slot it braids. Congrats to all the podium getters. Good to see a variety of different cars up there. Cheers Craig.
  17. Congats to the podiumites . Good to see new faces up there. Also thanks Martyn for fixing up the braids on my car, appreciate it . Thanks Phil for helping out with the posting of the results . Will be interesting to see if new faces make podium on the next round . Cheers Craig
  18. Thanks for looking at the cars mate . My axle was super glued in as well but with amount of racing it may well have come loose . I think we may never fix the postal mob except sending the cars in a metal container with foam filled sides . Anyway let's get this show on the road and see what it holds. Cheers Craig
  19. Thanks Leo and any others who helped for a well run round. Congrats to the podiumites . ,especially the Metro . I always said that tracks all over have there own characteristics and can surprise those who's cars are maybe not doing so well in previous rounds, surprising them by being up the pointy end. As far as the different makes , I'm going to have a look on the previous runs on my track to see what the time difference might have been between SCX and Scaley. But as was mentioned it was the lack of other manufacturers continuing the rally car builds as one alternative that was a turning point for us turning to Scaley. Anyway on to the Isle Of Mann to Dave and his crew to see if there round may give us a different winner . If you can Dave , have a look at my car for an updated Playboy book for my navvy as I think he's getting bored with the old one, he's had this one for quite some time . Have fun Dave and hope to finally see both yours and Barbs car make an appearance. Cheers Craig
  20. Cool . For a good price he's got it . But will have to pay more for the playboy mag that comes with it . I tried to make it sound as authentic as possible
  21. Yeah agree. The postal mob have a lot to answer sometimes. I actually used corflute to strengthen the sides of the box up . It's strong and light. But i think when it gets thrown ,something's got give inside . Touch wood we've never had a squashed box yet.
  22. Hey guys . Thanks for the rounds in NZ. Well done. I know it felt like a bit of a rush but you both came through with flying colours . The Fords are still the gun car to beat , it seems, but not dropping the Audi just yet. To the Podiumites , congrats on taming the NZ tracks . Ok ,now for the long haul to Scotland and hopefully the Audi can move a little higher in the rankings. By the way John before you send the cars can you check my car out for any Playboy books that may have hidden in the car , as that navvy of mine has a real problem . Cheers Craig
  23. Wow ! Just had a look how far you travelled , hopefully by plane . Long trip by car. I'm doing the same here in Oz Charles with the Family Tree only all my rello's come from the old country so no tripping around . A rello of mine has a pie shop in Bromley, Christ Church . Hilliard's Pies is the shop name. Have you ever heard of them . Anyway , onward and upward with the cars and i'm sure there won't be any probs with the internal postage .
  24. Thanks Branco for this top round. Congrats to those pesky Fords . Juniors car is still the one to beat. Will there be a track along the way they these Fords wont like ????? . I think my driver was too busy playing tourist and the navvy apparently got hold of the latest Playsheep mag . I dont know , those 2 guys are easily distracted . Oh well , on to Munters and see what happens up North. Again , thanks Mark for the time and effort , just one question , do the cars have to go through customs to get to the North island . I know this is not helping my cause for a win . Cheers Craig
  25. Thanks for the first stage Mark . That was quick . Thanks to the NZ customs guys for the releasing of the cars . Pics look good , especially mine with one of the locals getting in the way and making it dinner for the rest of the drivers . Looks like another RS 200 takeover . They are the gun car . Will have to see if there is a track they don't like. If any . 8 secs from 1st to last , that's not bad. See if the Audi's can climb the ladder on the next one . Cheers Craig
