  1. Thank you very much for the reply Alan! I'll look at the USA sites and see what info. can be found there. No real stress for me, it seems to work OK, although there are few pieces which are dodgy but I have enough to swap around if need be. It seems Aussies had the Scaley track and the yanks their home grown Strommie track. Cheers...
  2. Hi all!! I want to finally get a track up and running, nothing fancy, super tricky or big at the moment. Over the years I have collected a large amount of Strombecker track and was wondering what you all thought about it, any experiences at all? I also have 2 brand new in the boxes of Artin track with cars etc, but it is only really big enough for 1/32 cars, where the Strombecker track will take 1/24 at a pinch. The cars I have are Scaley's, Fly, Carrera and a few old Cox and Strombeckers. No digital at all. Thanks in anticipation...Ken
  3. As an outsider looking in on this thread for some time now, you guys are all to be congratulated on your efforts to form the Social Club you all want!!! But, my opinion is that you have forgotten the main issue at heart here, social racing!! You have done this by making too many rules and guidelines for a small get together group. Whilst this is not to condemned, make the basic classes simple for the beginning of this new adventure and enjoy the social racing and companionship you all desire. If it was me forming a small group like this, pick 4,5,6 or however many real championship classes you desire and make those races for stock cars only, no tyre changes, no this and no that. Straight out of the box, that is fair for all and as the group grows and improves the rules can be revised. You as a group have gotten ahead of yourselves and made it all too hard and are on the verge of imploding!!!!! Not forgetting that you can have social races as well, but they don't count toward the end of year championship points. Just my opinion and good luck with the social racing.
  4. Eno, You are quite generous in allowing the 1 mt around the sides. There is an excellent private track in Melbourne in a similar size with less than that and it works great. Regarding the grabby thing, well unfortunately...you come off and have to wait or whatever, that's the way it goes! You will more than likely lose the race, so, that should work for you as well. Good luck with your project!
  5. Slotbaker, great pics! That certainly gets the juices flowing. I can smell that avgas from here. Thanks for the post.
  6. Eno, That's an unusual looking track you have there??? Guess, if you can get them to run on that, what chance does anybody else have.........
  7. Happy birthday Freddy Hope you get a car and a girl! Have a great day.......
  8. GSRace, They are actually a '69 Camaro and there a couple of new models of the same body shape just released. A yellow one and red/brown type colour with some accents. Good luck.....
  9. As a slotcar novice, the Camaro works for me also. Makes getting around the track relatively easy. Hangs on!!
  10. Freddy, Don't be so modest! Arranging a sweep, simple and effective. Race day at Ged's, appreciated by all concerned I'm sure and created one of the longest threads I've seen on this site. It's all interesting and good stuff.
  11. Freddy, Thanks for including me in the sweep. I did get an outsider and sometimes they are good to have. Congratulations on your continued efforts with this forum, trust it doesn't eat into too much of your school time. Well done and good luck on RACE day!!!!. 69 Indy
  12. Garry, I reckon that might be....... Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Man what a waste that was, even if it was a kit car???
  13. Hey Freddy, Are you worried about getting killed on the track today? Don't be! Two things to remember......... 1/ CRASH and BURN!!!! 2/ Steven Bradbury Good luck and hope you all have a great day
