  1. Thanks Mark, Now look what ive done !!! im happy with the change, but...the small section i need to route is damn hard as my trusty old router wont let me remove the recess cutter! so im trying the little piece of rubbish router in the picture.... nooo good..and to boot i broke 1 cutting blade off the recess bit trying to get it out.. fun night..!!
  2. Happy birthday Clevo, have a great day!
  3. DM, I'm in the same position as you, new track and want to try something different. 100% of our club tracks are Ferrodor for the use of urethane and rubber..But now with the scale autos and foam tyres I want paving paint because of less tyre wear and to simulate the commercial tracks for setup reasons. My dilemma... All foam tyre cars that run at commercial raceways have a spray on the track that gives grip .... I will need to do this also, I know the rubber and urethane tyres work on this spray but I run the risk of club members not wanting to race at my track now.. I could clear coat Ferrodor but what's the point of using Ferrodor then? You can clear coat any paint ..
  4. Some work today on Barriers, no fun cutting 3mm MDF into strips... Some bog work tomorrow and finish the barriers then some colour..
  5. Thank you Christian and Embs, very quite day with a trip back from Rye then on the couch doing nothing when should have been working on the track , how slack !!
  6. No worries Scotty, i look forward to seeing another track thread started! Hopefully yours.
  7. Thanks guys, I think gazza did well with that lot... Could watch for hours...lol! Pick up 4 Moffat Falcons and some Magnabraid later in the week which covers birthday pressies for this year.
  8. I tried to contact Matt a few months back by phone, PM etc to be the third driver for the NSW enduro but no reply not even Dick has heard from him.. Hope he's OK!
  9. Don't know about Vlad, but my brothers track has these legs and he got the track from aastes, around 9 years ago. Apparently it's the idea of Aastes and my uncle Graham.. But I'm sure someone else unknown has done it.. Here's my first routed track from 2005 which Eno has now. http://i540.photobucket.com/albums/gg351/davnic74/roll.jpg
  10. Thanks Guys, it only takes up around 8 inches of floor space..
  11. If you plan on running 1/32 scale only then 100 mm gutters will be fine, but if your going to use 1/24 also then 125mm gutters minimum.
  12. IMHO that's not going to much fun to race on sorry, corners look way to small in radius to handle a car. And too many squeeze sections, what happened to the layout in your first post? That looked great.. Would have been better to add some squeeze sections to that one..
  13. Awesome , was such a waste of talent in a Ford!!!
  14. Thanks Mark, unfortunately won't be finished by Saturday and no braid available . Here's some updates, still playing around with elevations now that its up of the ground. The balance is perfect, it can be lifted with one arm...
  15. Bloody beautiful Jimmy as usual ! Wouldn't mind seeing them at Hornsby next month if you can fit them in the car box.
  16. For example I cut my recess for my entire track yesterday in 20 mins. It's 1mm deep and braid is normally 0.8 mm. There's 2 different braid widths 1/4" and 3/16, if your recess is 1/4 you will need 3/16.
  17. Welcome Brett, One more thing you will need for routing is a recess bit for the braid. http://www.slotraceshop.co.nz/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=48&products_id=567 I assume that you have a router already? If not CNC routering may be a better/cheaper option.
  18. This one is Definatly on my list , love the gold..

    Car Spotting

Shame to see to old EH's like that, one of my fav car's. Hope the second is not a resto project , that chassis isn't going to fit!! Lol
  20. There is a scalextric range rover available with lights and siren, my kids love it. Plus a scalextric mini which is available from armchair racer now.
  21. I hope so, but will probably extend in the near future to shorten the straight and another 2 corners in the empty space after the bridge.
  22. Got to start construction today after work, frame, route recess and screw and glue. Just waiting for some glued areas to dry before i set the elevation over the straight.. Tomorrow night i hope to cut the roll up legs x3 on fit to the base. Wednesday bog the screws and sand then lane colours fences and paint. Ive left the frame wide near the vacuum to allow for an extension in the future in that area.
  23. Jason, Are you using the Lexan windows and interior?
