Managed to braid most of the tack yesterday in between visitors and beer.. Ended up running out of braid (forgot to calculate the extra track added) so 6 mtrs short... Also had a slow start glueing using a cake decorating tube. what a mess, so i grabbed a water bottle a silicone cartridge nozzle and this was the result. So should be doing laps this arvo..

Was planing on braiding today... You think I can find a sauce bottle for the CA ?? Coles, 2 $ shop nothing..
  4. Exactly my point... makes me wonder why this is still a debate.
  5. my questions are, why doesnt the 1/24 run the same direction as the 1/32 plastic rtr? is the wiring actually wrong?. Would this be the same as people going to Mobile raceways or Thunderbirds or even your home track and saying to the owner we want to race in the other direction please change your track wiring?
  6. Now why go and spoil a fantastic livery by putting it on a Ford??

Thanks Rob, I'm enjoying this build. Well Gill I probably will never sell but thanks anyway, plus it's probably to much power for a female!! ( your profile?)

Surface complete, thanks to all that advised on this one, OTFS (Mel) for taking my calls and John (Yngwie).. Undecided if i will clear coat yet.. Pick up Braid and possibly powered up Sunday.
  9. Well I went to bunnings this arvo and returned the paving paint and took home 1ltr of dulux suede Tuscan. and a pad applicator... Wanted try something other than a roller for the first coat, much easier to apply and only 10-15 mins to paint 1st cost... Looks terrible as OTFS mentioned but second coat will even out.
  10. The 2nd picture is awesome with the rear sitting low around the corner as a real car would look.
  11. Perro, any updates with your track? Would like to see how it looks now.
  12. Yep that's perfect, back to bunnings tonight!! If its not flat enough I can sand as Phil mentioned above .
  13. That sounds like what I'm looking for, thanks John. Is the clear coat gloss ? Just looking through the clear coat thread and Mels advice he mentions the suede and clear which is low sheen...
  14. They do look great ,but are they worth $79 ? When Flys are $59. Maybe some rear alloys with inserts then yes..
  15. After a having a chat yesterday with our resident paint guru OTFS I have decided on painting the new track in a basic enamel and not paving paint. My question is low sheen (which I assume is Matt) or semi gloss, I want to be able to use Urethanes, rubber and sponges with out having to grease or goo the track for the Foamies.. Is it possible to do? Basically I'm after the best possible all round surface.. Tried a sample patch of the paving paint last night which looked ok but was slightly glossy.. Any help appreciated.

Ready for top coat tonight or tomorrow , I'm using White Knight paving paint this time..
  19. He'd probably do a better job!!! Basically I think the guys voicing there opinion are wanting to race these cars with everyone but want to in original form purely for costs... And I can understand that..I only have 1 car and will and have sold off other cars to fund new bits and future purchases, there are ways to be part of the racing and the rules aren't that hard.. We know the upgrades are needed for these cars to be just that bit more better to race.. Also the "national" rules. Where discussed last year!!! Lets just see the year out and then open discussion again possibly... I think the rules are fine!
  20. Now that's much better!!! I'd have the drivers stations on the front straight.. That way you will only need 3 marshals. 1 for the back sweeper and bends in the middle of the track and 1 Marshall at each end.

SR Its a plastic plumbing pipe, about 1 inch diameter available from Bunnings. It has a a blue line running along the side, works very well for but no good for small radius corners.
