  1. Really nice paint jobs everyone. My favourite would have to be Ambrose's.Are they pattos decals you used on the cars? What sort of finish did you put on #9.it looks sharp! I have done a falcon(in a few aussie v8s thread)and I am looking for some advice on a good finish to protect the paint and pattos decals.Finding future floor finish in Canberra is unsuccessful?Heres a nascar I painted just before I got on to Pattos. I might have to do another one with some better livery. Atleast no one else has the same paint! The decals are Parma1:24. Glued foil on inside of window,to blind opposition
  2. Ahh, the seventies! I am surprised I can remember them too! I cant remember what I did last week! Candy apple red, beautiful colour.I reckon it makes any car look good! The old x55 in the old ultrasonic cleaner trick hey! I should've got smart and seen you. It took me about 30 hrs to sand back my falcon by hand, what a dope?8 minutes, geez,it took me longer to mask up the windows! Keep up the good work Steve.
  3. hello tintin,I just realised I posted pics on your post.Is there any way to delete my reply off your post? Can you tell that I am new at this?Anyway,I'm sorry if I stepped on anyones toes! But I still reckon your Aussie V8's look cool!
  4. Good work.I really like the bottle-o. one,but then again the pepsi max does look good too.How did you go with your clear coat?I just finished one aswell and trying to do homework on a good clear finish to put over Pattos decals.I did try the tamiya on another one(against Pattos advice)after reading other modellers experiences.I thought, ahh well, a bit of trial and error. The tamiya wasnt too bad,but I did wait a week after appling decals and it did wrinkle up,but mostly settled down.I hear that future floor finish is the go! But I cant seem to find any,is there an equal alternative?I bought some Testors GLOSSCOTE LAQUER I will test on something else! Anyway, heres some photos of a car that I done for a mate. He is a Holden fan, but didnt like getting beat in his holden so he had to buy a Ford.lol. Well he wanted it painted so it will stand out amongst the all the blue fords. I was hoping he didnt like it,so he wouldnt ask to paint another car., He loved it,plan backfired! I hope I didnt offend any Holden or Ford fans,it was only a joke!lol. I wont do it again, honest(I had my fingers crossed)
  5. Very cool Steve. So thats what you been up to.Cant wait to see end result. What colour(s) are you thinking of?Or is that classified info at this stage?lol.Good stuff.Didnt you have a little hot rod 1:1 years ago made out of a beetle?
  6. Thanks for that info Burglar, sounds like a bargain to me.I will have to get in touch with Bob. Cheers.
  7. Yeh burglar, the devil made me do it(cut scalextric camaro up) It seemed like a good idea at the time! anyway, the camaro is up and running again but thats another story.I seen the B-NOVA conversion kits on the site you mentioned, thats what gave me the idea in the first place, yeh,I know, dumb idea! anyway,I would like to know how they are fitted and can you get them in oz. cheers.
  8. I cut the guide holder out of a scalextric camaro and fitted it to a scx.bmw.m3 so a slot-it wooden track guide could be used. It works well. It was a fiddly job, luckily the dremyl made it a little easier and I converted the camaro into a wheelstanding convertable,so its even more fun to muck around with.
  9. No worries about the slot it gear, axle and metal rims will fit. I have put the same in one of mine(scx.bmw.m3gt) and I also replaced those front wheels with a solid axle.Pop the front wheels out and put in bushes and axle, then gently pry front wheels off axle stubs and glue onto axle.
  10. I bought my speed checker from armchair, they are already set up.I use a 1:1 car battery charger to power mine(the charger runs the car and two "AA" power the speed checker). My car charger has variable settings I tested all settings on voltmeter and on high it charges at 13.5 volts, which we run at W2F. It just clamps straight on to leads of the speed checker.Piece of p#*s.
