  1. Gebaude & Deko on the right then follow the expanded page links under each there brendan
  2. Well nearly finished the bridge. Bought a new lacquer (a lighter one) came out just right - no perfect - just right. Painted it up added some nails to give it a more realistic effect and 2 tree trunks for the sides of the bridge. there you will also notice a tree Thanks to the model train guys heres my rendition on their tall redwood tree think it needs a few more branches here you can see the bark texture - makes all the difference this is using a 18mm Tassie Oak dowel and shaped What you think ? Brendan
  3. i use a model knife to cut half way then get the small coping saw out. that way some "chunks" may only come out of the bottom. But im yet to sand it back lightly too. you can see a small amount of splinters on the ladder rungs. brendan
  4. WOW - this stuff is addicting !!! I've been at it again. Drew up the plan and scratch built this water tower in about 2 hours this afternoon. Excuse the pegs - still making sure its going to be solid. Still to cut out a cone tin roof and paint & weather Brendan

    Lucky Find?

I was going to say that ! I think they are closed now ??? well they were .... they had the old Dick Johnson car and others as well.
  6. ok sorry to bump this, but If the website states that it is still "$50" take a screen capture, lodge a complaint with the Dept Fair Trading for BAIT MARKETING They will attract a large fine irrespective of their T&C's (terms & conditions) Im a retail manager so i must comply as well. Even 1 complaint will send the goons around to check. CHEERS
  7. thanks knoath yeah wasnt happy with the darkness ... its only a jarrah stain. i know not to use this for future projects. This was brushed on thinly then ragged off immediately. With the bridge i plan to put in little brass tacks (u know the round headed ones) on the end of each plank, have a large tree trunk for support on the sides made from dowels. brendan

    Stu - if i saw that i'd cream my pants too ! SUCH BEAUTY, LOOK AT THOSE CURVES ---- E L A N O R ! ! ! ! ! ! ! but here's one close from work yday and going home Is this an FXX ???? didnt look like a 430 to me
  9. UPDATE ! Painted with a new type of stain - comes in a tube as a gel. Not too happy with the outcome, this was brushed on then ragged off, and still came out dark. I suppose because balsa is porous ????? But still really happy with my first scratch build I can only get better ! And when on the track with a bit of Woodlands scenics around may tidy it up a bit. still yet to paint front and decide on roof covering, but that black wet dry may be a goer ! Anybody know how to do a stove pipe chimney? Here's the next project as well half completed - rickety bridge. 300mm long Brendan
  10. I'm going ! thanks to Jim Beam They didnt have the V8s tix for me so they offered 2 tix to TGL
  11. Stu Last time the missus asked (nagged) me to change the rooms around she was preggers ! They "nest".... so anything you need to tell us ?
  12. ok stu - had some 9mm mdf lying about, took a guess-timate on the heigh in scale with a car (160mm i think it was) - drew up the plans on the mdf - and cut them out. Bunnings had a bag of balsa that is precut looking like timber / cladding @ $10 - thought was a little steep - but had nothing better to do. Stuck all the sticks along the back and sides - tried for a random look on the back, but thought that wasnt going to help on the sides. Its going for the western style look, in the township, but cause ive drawn the track up -i know how much room there is so the depth of the building is 100mm which will have an offset of 50mm from the outside of the lane. If anyone knows of any other pics / plans of the buildings from the Wild West era. PLEASE. that would be easy enough for an amatuer to construct. The front of the building will have an awning that will be supported by posts and a baulastrade across to tie the horses to. Anyone know what i could put on the roof ? I believe the roof had a tar coating or something. So next step to paint (lacqeur) weather it. Cheers Brendan
  13. Well - while im doing other things, i thought that i should at least do some buildings for around the track (when it eventuates). Whipped this up in a day, yet to paint and weather it, but this will be the GAOL Still the roof and porch to go. Brendan

  15. Great site Rick. Could i just ask a question for a friend that asked about it, Since you can run 3 Scorpius systems in 1 room, can you add 3 to one track to run 3x16cars ? (so a grid of 48) Brendan
  16. Scouring the shops for xmas presents today, came across this pack of Simpsons items. As you can see Homer's car in there - scale would be 1:32 / 1:35 The pack is available from Uncle Pete's Toys (yes that should bring back memories) $30 NOW THAT WOULD MAKE A DECENT SLOTCAR
  17. steve - 1:32 i hope Do you have a warehouse ? Conrod = 72mt I have the surveyors plans if you'd like them ... brendan
  18. ANNOUNCEMENT I have spoken with Martin, prior to posting this, but thought that i'd be decent enough to post it here for you all as well.. As of yesterday, i had to pull out of the Proxy Rally race due to my photography plans skewing my free time during November & December (as if i had any ! ) and into possibly well into the new year. Basically, i've approched a publisher and he has been eager to take my book on board. This is #1 in a larger series that will hopefully take off, with that being said - if all goes well for the 1st, he'll fund the remaining of the series. So ! I have till the new year to get the brief of first handed in. That has contributed to a lot of my time being away from Auslot in the past month. I shall be popping my head in still, but i just resigned from hosting a race, and i'll let you guys know about the books when they become ready. Cheers guys Brendan

  21. Serious question... If i was to route my track flat then raise the desired sections, would the slot and recess "close up" substantially? or un-noticable. Should i leave another 0.5mm for the recess? Brendan
  22. Thank you your Honour - i won (ok Police did) Sneaky sh!t tried to x-examine me, before he was ordered by judge presiding. Came in with Bureau of Meterology report trying to state that it was pouring with rain all day hence the visablitity was to a minimum. Apartently after watching the surveillence footage (cant believe he still pleaded NOT GUILTY) my car moved about 1 foot forward and numerous passer-bys heckling him. Thank fully the police threw the book at him Failing to stop after an accident $590 Negligent driving $265 + court costs and now i can go to insurance company and get new bumper brendan
