    Vale - Frank Gardner

He added so much both here and OS - met him in another life when racing on the tiny Crytal Palace track in the middle of London where he man handed a Camaro round a track where even Go karts would struggle RIP

  9. First round they were checked and the owners of cars that were too low were contacted and cars corrected. I am completely and utterly over that F@#$%^&g rule and all the crap that follows it around. http://www.auslot.com/forums/index.php?s=&...st&p=102949
  10. Problem with using a USB to LPt cable is the physical address of the port will not be present. It will only be a virtual address so will not work

    Lathes

Nice to see a mans topic :sleep2: I too came close to getting one but thought long and hard about it. Ended up getting the Ultimate Tool - All in one thing. Does most things.Actually does everything I was looking for as I realized I didn't have the need for a full lathe. What I can say is I had a problem with the motor. The service I got was fantastic. they expressed a replacement recon motor that day AND sent a new one two weeks later all the way from Germany. I use it for modifying hubs ( both plastic and Alloy) plus shaping and cutting. Like all 'All in ones' it does nothing really really great but does all that I need
  19. You raced against one on Saturday - 12 volts - same as all the other cars
  20. Gentlemen Please pull collective heads in Qualifying means absolutely sweet FA (thats Fanny Adams - dunno who she was?) - Its done ONLY to keep the troupes entertained and means bugger all - some cars and or drivers are able to do one flying lap and post a great time whilst others can run all day at 10/10th If it helps vent spleens in my direction but not in public Thanks guys
  21. I bought a box of these. They are better than Dick Smiths in that they have brushes. Basically the best $1 motor you can buy. Never had a bung one. Great for scratch builts. Maybe a tad slower than the old NC1 but as they are not torquey ( is that a real word?) any chassis thats not heavy handles like a dream. So if you want scratches that are not world beaters, they are good buy. About the same speed as the Dick Smith motors but stronger and much better made. I've got about 20 cars floating round with them in. Anyway for the cost of three Scaley motors you get a box of these. The big diffrence is the shaft is longer so will need trimming if fitted to a RTR chassis. I believe they are call 'mirror motors' cos they come from car mirrors but I know tham as 's@#$%^&r motors.
  22. Also a tiny thing might get in the way - its call getting a life. Of course the top 100 can only really be a opinion based top 100 not an actual top 100 cos the eclectic eclectic forms of racing and indeed slotcar styles. Plus it does only go back to 1970. Being able to go back further than that I can think of a name or two missing (anyone heard of Barry Magee - king of 1/24th in the old dart around 1966 to 1971 made cars that looked like jewellery - never seen anything come close to their build or performance). We are talking pre wing days here. Not quite back as far as the old rail days ( yes slotcars used to run on rails) I’ve raced against a couple of the poms from the 101 to 200 group and was just blown away by their speed and car preparation. Even beat the buggers when they raced at my then club track. Course I only just beat them but they smashed me everywhere else Just a thought - I wonder how many were married when at the top of the tree
  23. Remind me not to repair cars and make them better than mine 3rd placed practice time for BeeJay - Now if only I could get some one to build a car for me next year AND then I fix it - I might just have a winning method.
  24. Its in the post I found it when I was tidying up my desk this morning - sorry Phil Posted to me or back to Phil ? the address on your entry
