  1. So........A Dc motor becomes a generator on the down run, eg coasting along. Via the controller trigger, a contact is provided, that shorts out this power from coast down. The Brake pot thing is placed in this circuit, providing variable amounts of flow path power, in layman's terms, to make it stop in shorter or longer distances. You can see how a different power motor WILL provide different characteristics, in stopping and going as well. Therefore I suggest going to an electronic controller for more consistent performance.
  2. Howdy, So you need to NOT use a resistor style controller, but rather a electronic unit. Each motor will have different resistance, therefore different characteristics. Mine.................. http://www.thirdeyetechnology.net/ Horrific prices, though !
  3. "the previous owner had cut the rear supports out that help hold the motor and bearings in place" These are removed to save weight and allow body float. Owner was supposed to glue bearings in... wrote this yesterday......wouldn't post....came back today. http://www.mediafire.com/view/ld4ee01xswk24at/RM-Scalextric-V8-SP-Tools-rcr-016.jpg/file http://www.mediafire.com/view/370a66y4ywqk1do/20190327_132315.jpg/file

From Our friend above..... AND Super suprised to see this still on U tune !!! Most commercial tracks will get angry if any fluid gets on their tracks. Know little about spastic track, except its the best the day you bought it, cause after that the points of roughness are wearing down [become less pointy].....like sandpaper. Rubber down,..on a track is good. Dust is not. Remove dust only.

I recon I saw the sale. Tis with interest I reply. As a newby, up against seasoned pros, I needed every piece of help. Especially as I couldnt provide the hours to get track time. Not so long ago, on here, it was like pulling teeth to get these "tricks" So .. Flushing a motor polishes surfaces for less friction. Most do it at lower volts in water and metho. VooDoo drops make a marked difference to comms and brushes. problem is it "goes away" after a while. looking for an imediate edge = great. Any lube on buses is a plus. Tyres and treatments is the key to speed. Unfortunately its the pros that know the steps, so ull have to ask them, cause a book could be written on precedures etc for each different brand as well.
