  1. Looks great Peter haven't quite worked out what I'm going to build yet, obviously a Thunderslot is one of my choices, Lola T70 white kit may upgrade to a Predator 25k BB motor, NSR 917/10 RC Cola or a 917K that I may upgrade that also to a Predator 25k BB or 25k NSR. testing will continue into the new year
  2. Slotties at Charmhaven do an absolutely fantastic job with their junior race nights, it's well organised and they have prizes each week. While I was racing on the adult friday nights, we had a Junior/Adult enduro night on one of the regular junior Thursday races. Teamed an adult racer with a junior, Adult racer had to supply the stock Carrera car with Quikslix fitted for an hour long enduro on the magnet track. Had an absolute fun night, lots of excited 8-12 year olds including a couple of girls which was great to see. I purchased a new Ferrari 488 Alpha Tauri liveried GT3 car for the night, put the quikslix on it, gave it a bit of a tune up at home before the night, ran some practice laps with my team mate Hudson before the race. The car ran better by the second last heat and we got a couple of 3rd places in the heats and finished 6th overall. Hudson now owns an Alpha Tauri Ferrari GT3 car. He had fun and so did I Be great to get a junior night organised at one of the venues if possible
  3. results are in, Brumos kicked butt once again! Great job by Peter Gunn, just missing the podium and Charlesx had a great run in a couple of heats racing side by side with the Chapparal, awesome viewing! Mine jumped up to 12th place, good job everyone
  4. take a look at Sir Brumos' delta (.029) easliy the best, so technicaly the most consistent car to drive lap after lap. My #62 Lola was next best at .040, but over half a sec per lap slower ( 5.7 average compared to a 6.3!!!) that's a lot of laps down over the race distance
  5. happy with my car jumped from 11th in qualy to 7th in the race, 4 of us on 84 laps and change! nice close racing apart from Brumos' GT40 silver flash
  6. recent purchases include: Revoslot 333 Ferrari Older Shell livery for the Revo Nats... got 3rd place with it in finals on the Sunday. Great car. Scaleauto Coke Porsche 991.2, great car Raced once for a 3rd place, had lent my Kit Porsche back to my fellow racers back in Queensland 2nd hand NSR Mosler AW with green chassis, Open class car for where i was racing Thunderslot Peter Revson McLaren, why? because I like it and like Thunderslot cars, easy to tune, and fast NSR Corvette C7R Black Gulf style livery, AW version for the NSR Nats, but now I can't attend plus I didn't have a Corvette from NSR NSR Pink Pig Porsche 917K, also for Nats NSR 908/3 Gulf another for the Nats as an option incase I didn't want to race the Pig NSR F22 Blue test version also for the Nats, threw the set screws in the front and set axle. Oiled it and it runs nicely sorry no pics Packing all the cars up and moving back to Victoria after a 30 year absence, will drag them all out once settled
  7. hey DM, think most had some sort of weight. I knew of a couple of cars in the 114gm bracket! The Gt1 Porsche weighs 109.5gm with the weight added. The Ferrari 333 is 107.5 with no weight. So both fairly heavy but performed well I have 2 supras JPS no weight weighs 99.2, the other white kit is 105.6 weighted not much between the 2 cars GT2 porsches 99.5 for the Cabin livery car, 99.8 for white kit both don't have any weight added, I have a Rothmans one also that I have added 5 gms to and its 102.3gm much more settled but still gets a little tail happy with G25's on it. It's a bit of test and see, add a bit of weight, test, take it out again, add a little less, test again, the Cabin GT2 Porsche was great right out of the box, a little loose but very easy to drive, once the tyres trued up it was sweet. Same with the 333, stable and predictable from the outset

    GT3 RACER

Nice one Peter, car looks good, hopefully you can crack it into the top 27. I've settled on the Sideways Lamborghini with slotit SW 1mm o/set pod. 25k NSR, Slotit gearing 11/34. Sideways air rims NSR supergrips 20 x 11 on rear, glued/trued glued/trued sideways fronts, stock guide, lexan interior. Fingers crossed
  9. Welcome Andrew. Fantastic you made it here to Auslot. Thanks for upping the ante over the Revo weekend, made everyone sit up and take notice ! Had great fun meeting new fellow slot racers from other states and areas. Both you and Saul were extremely fast, well-prepared cars and willing to help any of the other fellow racers in attendance without even knowing any of us. Will definately be keeping in touch Wayne
  10. Just posted my Lola T70 to Sir Brumos for this proxy. No pics unfortunately but it's the Blue #8 car with #62 roundels stuck on, couldn't find my small Aussie flag transfers to add to it Predator 22.5K BB motor, slot it 11/34 gearing, Stock chassis and pod, Staffs Silver 5 spoke wheels 15.8 front shod with Slot it zero grips, 15 x 10 rear shod with Thunderslot TS04 all glued/trued. It handles great, sticks well around my twisty home timber track plus it's easy to drive. When I tested the 4 candidates for this proxy it was pretty close but the Lola was quickest over 25 laps average of 4:52 best lap 4:36 ( Record is 4.16 Elva) Slotit GT40 with shark 20k and NSR supergrips rears 4:64 ave 4:49 best lap, this ran in the Ford Vs Ferrari proxy, I just swapped the 36t spur to a 34T NSR 917K stock setup with supergrip rears 4:71 ave 4:56 best lap Slot it 512M with new untrued TS04 on rear 4:75 ave 4:55 best lap, probably could have glued/trued the rears and got this one right on the money too. hopefully it's competitive, going to be some bigger horsepowered rides so we will see how it fares
  11. Sunday rolled around quickly, and the entrants for the day started arriving around 7:30 am keen to get in a get a motor and tire set and get their prep started. A few quick laps as a base for the Ferrari 333 after getting the motor into the water, while Peter and brother Scott decided to run in their motors in an isopropyl alchahol/water mix (after a dry run in yesterday). We all decided to not true the tires for todays raceas they looked pretty nice once fitted onto the rims, I glued mine with nail polish as per yesterday. Peter and Scott didn't glue their tires ( Peter has had plenty of success back in Queensland running untrued/unglued tires although 30 shore) Peter also running a Ferrari 333 Momo livery, Scott using Pete's Mercedes CLK Everything re fitted to the car, gear mesh set and as per yesterday I replaced the standard Revo braid with NSR soft braid (as the rules stated any braid). I had set a very quick 7.0 in Purple lane in my base runs so I was hoping the handout motor would be as good as the one from yesterday. Mind you I had only purchased this 333 Ferrari 10 days ago off Facebook marketplace NIB and had run a few laps around my little home track. I was really happy with the practice lap times from the car, it was very stable, handled great with very little slide and easy to push,. Pete at least had a smile on his face today as his car was much quicker than yesterdays car and Scott was pleased with how the Merc was running. Once again cars were into parc ferme by 9:45 am Qualifying order sorted and it all began in earnest again, I was to run 15th in the order and some quick times had been posted early. Everyone was using Red or Yellow today to qualify. Managed to post a 7:1 quite nicely and ended up P2 once again, Andrew Eilers was TQ with a 7:0 with 27 racers the grouping was slightly different with 3 groups of 7 and 1 group of 6 after the heat rounds it was Andrew 1st on 248 laps Saul 2nd on 243 laps, Peter 3rd 241.7, Anthony V 241.5,Myself 241.1, Caine on 237. Semi final time and the final 12 running off to make a final 6 with heats of 2 minutes duration 16 laps or better was the target to progress to the final Andrew once again dominated with 99.2, Anthony V on 98, Me on 97.3, Saul 96.7, Kevin Field 95.4 and Pete on 94.7 taking the final spot by .7 of a lap from Bob M on 94.0. Back to 5 minute heats for the main race so 41/42 laps being the aim Andrew in the Red Toyota GT One Anthony V in the Green Toyota GT One Wayne in Yellow Ferrari 333 Saul in the Mercedes CLK Kevin in the Mercedes CLK Peter in the Red Ferrari 333 Once again the outer lane's were a bit of a nemesis for me 39 laps to start off in Green had me down a couple of laps to kick things off, better run in Orange and Purple Red was fantastic won the heat 42 laps and the car was so smooth and easy to drive I didn't even push hard to get the laps Yellow was also good with 42 laps and Blue the other gutter lane was Ok with 41 Andrew was dominant once again and had a car that was just fast and stable and took out the title from Anthony, in 2nd and I managed to fight back up to claim the final podium step! It was a wonderful weekend, Mike from Show Us Ya Slotz, ran the meeting flawlessly with a few helpers doing the scutineering and race control. Congrats to everyone concerned and a big thank you to Revoslot and Leemans Hobbies ( Australian Distributor) for suppling the handout motors and tires and Prizes.
  12. 30 Entries for the Saturday running of Gt spec cars. Randomly select your motor from a box of motors supplied by Revoslot., plus receive a pair of Shore 22 wide tires ( you could choose to take a set of the thinner 22's if desired). I took a motor from way down the bottom of the box and the tires looked nice and smooth and seemed to be pretty round. One tire did have a dimple on the inner edge of the rib, which I managed to remove easily. Pitting with my Gold Coast mates Peter "Guru" Wyman and Wayne "Beaky" Swan plus Pete's brother Scott had come up from Tasmania. with only 1 +3/4 hours to fit motor, glue & true tires and test it was hectic. Friday testing with my proposed entry the Penzoil GT1 Porsche 911 was promising ,with a set of 22 S rear tires and 10 gms of weight in front of motor and 2-3gms under the front axle as close to the guide as possible had helped to settle the car. I managed to get down into the low 7sec range on all lanes. Had previously had a best of 7:291 After selecting motors, we ran them in on the power supply at 3V in a cup of water while truing our glued tires. 20 mins later the cars were ready to hit the track for some testing. with 5 mins per lane allocated it was a mad rush to see what changes ,if any were needed. My car was good, fast, smooth and very stable. Pete had his 911GT1 going nicely too, posting similar times to mine and Beaky has his 911GT2 hovering in the 7:5-7:6 range by 9:45am all cars were in parc ferme until the start of qualifying, being 1 minute on your choice of lane Beaky and Scott were in the first session, Pete was about 14 or 15th to run and I was the 27th car out. Beaky was sitting around P4 early with a 7:550 which was a handy time, Pete decided to try Purple lane for qualy as he was very quick on it during practice, however the car was extremely loose and he was way down the list with 8.0 time. Plenty of rubber laid down on the middle 2 lanes (Red/Yellow) Local racer brad Holmes had laid down a 7:1 to be sitting on top. I managed to pull a 7:205 to end up P2 after the qualy session Racers were grouped into 5 x heats of 5 mins duration with 6 drivers based on Q times, the top 12 would progress to 2 minute semi finals and the top 6 would then compete in the final rotation of 5 minutes per lane. 90 secs lane changes between heats After the dust had settled thetop 6 were Andrew Eilers from South Australia, Anthony V ( local star), Wayne Pepper , Saul Eilers ( 18 yo son of Andrew), Nick Ireland ( local racer) and Ian Rumble ( NSW), however Ian had to leave before the final was run so Caine( another local Flexi racer) made up the field of 6 Anthony V was the victor on 246 laps 2nd spot went to Caine on 243 ( with a borrowed car as he doesnt own a Revo). Andrew and Nick had a ferocious battle for the 3rd place coming down to the last lap Andrew 242.6, Nick 242.5! I was 5th on 240 laps and Saul had a few car issues and was in 6th on 234 laps
  13. A few pics taken from Sunday at the Revoslot championship held at Show Us Ya Slotz. All credit for the images to Scott Wyman's partner and I stole them off fb. Sunday's LMP final 6 from L to R. Andrew Eilers (SA) blue lane, Anthony V (NSW) purple lane, Peter Wyman (QLD) yellow lane,Wayne Pepper (QLD/NSW)red lane, Kevin Field (NSW) orange lane, Saul Eilers(SA)green lane I managed to win this heat on Red lane with 42 laps, car was brilliant some serious concentration going on A gathering of minds????? Scott Wyman getting some practice in Practice laps and tuning time Peter Wyman making adjustments
  14. 30 entries on the Saturday, 27 on the Sunday

    GT3 RACER

I also have an AMG with hard white chassis, 25k NSR sidewinder, stock gearing, thunderslot guide. It's improving but still got work to do. At this stage I will probably send my Sideways Lamborghini Huracan or Slotit Nissan GTR, but will see as we get closer to send off time
  16. no MG here yet either, hoping the new build will be somewhat competitive
  17. Torana arrived safely back in qld, thanks again for a fun run
  18. thanks for the run guys, was fun watching Knew that Torana was a pig from the start, couldn't quite get the small can to fit properly, hence the shitty gear mesh. Might try a long can when it gets back and see if that can help it. Congrats to the top 3, Charles, Tank and Oldman, figured an XB/C Falcon was the go but just wanted to be different Look forward to the next one
  19. happy with a P8 for the Torana Congrats to Charles for taking out the win, you could definately see it coming
  20. Thanks Paul, interesting video break down once again. I'm with Bov here, struggling with the weight placement of the top 2 cars, but it obviously works and works very well. Working on 2 new builds for next series, can only get better
  21. working on a new ride for this proxy, anything will be better than this MG
  22. Battle of the bottom feeders, Ron's Jag, Tony's Torana and my Torana. Both are faster than my car so I have to be favourite
  23. thanks Paul, well done to all involved in the running of the proxy
