  1. Anyone able to help out as to what brand/model of car this is? There's nothing written anywhere on the body or chassis. Missings quite a bit, looks to have 1/32 wheels for it's size (1/24?). Cheers Matt
  2. Been a while since I have done some work on these cars. Managed to make up one complete original car bar the windscreen and guide. Working on the screens, still trying to find a suitable replacement guide. Found the missing exhausts by chance just going through a tray of broken chrome bits and pieces I had in the shed here. And came across another chassis the same as the three I already had. One body was complete, the other pretty much fell apart because the plastic was so fragile. Luckily out of the carb/exhaust pieces I had I was able to make one complete set. I made a mold of the existing body and exhaust section to complete the other 3 chassis. Since it took around 10ml-15ml of resin to make a body I played around with some colour mixing. Made up the exhaust section minus the rollbar (easier to make one up out of brass etc later), test fitted to the body. Had another drivers head the same as the original, but have used bigger heads on the other cars (looks better IMO) Been working on making the screens. Made a clay mold, sanded it to roughly the correct shape, gave it a coat of primer to seal the clay and made a resin mold of it to use to vac-form some new windscreens. I would of liked to make the screens out of clear resin, would of been good to have an original screen on hand. Apart from the screens all I need to find now is a suitable replacement guide, the ones that were fitted were not original and interfere with the front of the body. I'll update with some more progress in less than 2 years, lol. cheers Matt
  3. Thanks mate, been acquiring the Lotus 16's for around 13 years now. He's an update on my complete (incomplete) collection at the moment. French Lotus 16's English Lotus 16's Australian/New Zealand Lotus 16's Australian Lotus 16's And the four scatch built Lotus 16's I ended up making my own boxes, just so I know what's what. The boxes are based on the Formula Junior boxes, easily fit the Lotus in them and easier to store. Good to keep them here in one place as a reference for others. Cheers Matt
  4. Very nice, great job on the cars Terry.
  5. Picked up a few more over the last few months. A couple of the harder to find Lotus 16's in this lot. The rarer Made in England Type 1 in the 'Baby Blue'. The hard to find Made in France Type 1 Indigo/Dark Blue with the Yellow mirrors, carbi's etc Made in France Type 1 Yellow with Red mirrors, carbi's etc Made in France Type 1 Blue with red mirrors, carb's etc Made in France Type 1 Blue with Yellow mirrors. carbi's etc Made in France Type 2 Red with chrome mirrors, carbi's etc Made in France Type 2 Green with chrome mirrors, Carbi's etc Made in France Type 2 Yellow with chrome mirrors etc Made in France Type 3 Blue with chrome mirrors, carbi's and chrome wheels Made in France Type 3 Yellow with chrome mirrors, carbis and silver/chrome wheels And finally another Made in England Type 1 Red which came in the job lot with the Baby Blue from the first photo. Picked up this lot from various places around the world, France, Italy, Spain, Slovakia and England. I have also noticed that the Made in Australia/New Zealand Lotus 16's that were made in Australia have the drivers bodies painted white, While the Made in Australia/New Zealand Lotus 16's that were made in New Zealand have the unpainted drivers bodies. Being that there seems to be more Kiwis on Auslot than Aussies I was wondering if any of you have any Lotus 16's to confirm this? In a post from Leftturnonly (tony) a few posts above he shows pictures of his Lotus 16's with unpainted drivers. Cheers Matt
  6. Thanks for putting some photos up Gary. Was a great event over the long weekend here in WA. Great to meet everyone from over East and NZ that made it along as well. Was a busy few days beforehand setting everything up but well worth the effort from everyone involved. Big shout out to the Brunswick Junction crew for hosting the event, from the track facilities to the catering etc. And of course NSR for allowing us to host the race here in WA. The whole 3 days of racing was run very well and smooth, and everyone knew what to do when it came to their turn to marshal, race etc. Probably the unluckiest racing I've had with a gear failure in the main event in F1, breaking a motor pod the night before the GT3 event, then having the GT3 car breakdown in the top 16 races. All in all it was a great weekend of racing, big learning curve but plenty of fun as well. cheers Matt
  7. A couple more Lotus 16's added to the collection. These are both made in France, purchased from Italy and Spain. Type 2 and a Type 1. Type 1 above was missing the mirrors and one spring, fitted some I had on hand but will remake them so they look better. Always looking for the final few I don't have, never in a rush though. I did have a look through my Lotus 16 collection and worked out there's ONLY 17 more that I'd still like, lol. Well, that's what I've seen pictures of anyway, but who's counting. cheers Matt
  8. Nicely done, looks great.
  9. Hi, Yes you are correct about the in and out terminals, doesn't have - or + shown though on either of them. I have tried to wire it up, power to the 'in' and with the digital display wired up to the 'out' just to see if any power was coming through. Just like I would do with the digital display to a 9v battery. Even swapped the wires over to check if - and + were the other way round. I'll try it all again to see if I can get it working. Cheers for your input Matt
  10. Some years back I think it was Phil K who posted a picture of this module. I purchased one and thought I'd use it for my Tyre Razor etc but went with another module in the end. Anyway, since I'm stuck at home with the kids with the Rona Virus I've been keeping myself busy with plenty of Slot related things to do. Thought it was time to actually find out how this works, seems easy enough but I can't seem to power it. Now I've tried to wire it up a few different ways, not the best pic, but you can see it has the in/out connections on the left, knob for adjusting the voltage etc. I'd like to use this if possible, adding in a digital display as well. Thought there may be someone with the how to/how not to do it ideas. I currently used one of these modules I purchased years back (another Phil K link) which works great for my Tyre Razor and Tamiya 'running road'. Easy enough to use and I adjust the voltage with a tiny screwdriver in the brass screw located in the 'blue thing' at the top. If I can wire in the other module I can use the knob to adjust the voltage instead. Anyway, thought I'd put it up here, searched the forum but with most of the old pics missing I couldn't find the answer I was after. cheers Matt
  11. Good to see you make it down to Syd's Gary. Unfortunately my young fella tested positive for Covid Saturday morning so I thought it'd be best if I stayed away. Hopefully next time racings on I'll get to meet you. Good to see you had a great night. cheers Matt
  12. Picked up another couple of French Type 1 Lotus 16's not long ago. These 2 have the silver painted rims which is different to the usual releases. I did buy one some years back with silver rims but changed them out to the standard yellow. Looks like they were released like this and not painted by the previous owner as I thought. Another 2 off the endless list of Lotus 16's.
  13. Yeah, bit of a roadtrip for myself Gary, about 1 1/2 hours drive South from Fremantle. Straight run down the Kwinana Freeway/Forrest Highway. I believe if you're moving up Joondalup way it may be an extra hour again. Luckily I have a mate who lives 10 mins away from the Brunswick Junction track, always a good excuse to head down for a couple of days. Especially when it involves Slot cars and a few cold drinks. Yeah it should be a great event Den, the Brunswick Junction Slot Car Club who are hosting the event are a great bunch of blokes. I believe the club is going to re-braid the entire 8 lane track and I've heard that the Council are looking at extending the Slot car track building by another 8m. It's great that the local Shire/Council are on board and looking forward to the event being hosted in Brunswick Junction. Matt
  14. Yeah should be good Gary. Pretty sure we're going to head down again on July 30th for another practice run. Most of us had never been to the track prior to January and a couple of weeks ago.
  15. For those interested, the Brunswick Junction Slot Car Club in Western Australia will be hosting the inaugural 2022 NSR Australian Championships. For those interested in attending the event in September you can register at: https://scalexseller.com/pages/nsr-australian-championship cheers Matt
  16. Just had a quick look through the 2022 range Gary. Good to see them finally bringing some buildings back. Just read elsewhere that the building are one piece resin too. Being a fan of the Gulf livery I don't know if it's just me or do most of the 2021/2022 releases look more 'toy like'. Of the 4 new 2022 Gulf liveries only the Aston Martin 'Dirty Girl' looks good IMO. The Blues Brothers Dodge Monaco Bluesmobile looks cool, probably pick up 1. And you can't have the first two Back to the Future cars without the third, that makes 2. Still waiting on Kitt from the 2021 Catalogue, that'll be 3. There's some nice new cars, smaller list than usual but understandable in todays World. With the price of most of the new releases listed around 53 Pounds ($100) I think I'd rather spend my slot money on other brands. An NSR, Slot.it, Revoslot etc don't look that expensive anymore compared to Scalextric, especially given their quality components. Looking forward to seeing what the 2022 Australian releases will be. Matt
  17. Nice Gazza, looks a treat. The more I see what people have been doing with the 3D printers the more I want one, lol.
  18. We use MJK on all 10 classes at WASCRG. No problem with truing them, actually the easiest to true in my opinion. Australian made too.
  19. Yeah, bit more work to do on mine to. Gave it a run last night, if you call it that, lol. Noticed when giving it a run last night it was jumping all over the place. The rear wheels and gear are all on the p!@s, haven't been pushed on square to the axle. Will try to straighten these, if all else fails I'll just use some metal wheels.
  20. Had a crack modifying my spare Cougar yesterday afternoon. Took a before and after pic to show the difference. Have gone with the MJK tyres which we use on the Pioneer cars at the club in the bottom pic but will see what else I have laying around. These seem to be slightly bigger than the originals but can be easily sanded down. Found some small front tyres which fit nicely, just touching the set up block atm. Unfortunately this car has no interior, I will have to make one up to suit and the car will be ready to go. Car definitely looks heaps better now, cheers Wobble for posting up pics of your modifications. Just noticed I haven't put the exhausts back on, will modify them to fit like you have Wobble. cheers Matt
  21. The stance even looks better now with the front end not up in the air. Nice work, will modify my spare Cougar to resemble this one. cheers
  22. If all else fails and your unable to obtain one locally, here or NZ, try Lendons of London. Picked up the Cougar chassis's and a few others at a decent price. Might take a while, especially this time of year. At least it gives you an option. Matt
  23. I've used the Selley's Quick Fix Supa Glue in the Stand Up Tube for years now. Sticks well to most plastics, great for MDF, glues tyres to the wheels etc. Unless you knock it over and lay it down it won't block the spout or glue the cap in place. Kept standing it will last until it's all used. Only problem I have found lately is that it is out of stock at most Bunnings.
  24. Always thought the SG1 Stargate would be a great entrance into the Slot man-cave Flashing lights and all, lol
