  1. BrumosRSR and your team. Great to see the live feeds today. Thanks very much to whoever organised. No idea what happened in Round 9 though as I finished second to last after a string of consistent mid-field results and a best effort of 8th on one of the shorter tracks. Did my car breakdown perhaps. All the best for the final round. Regards Charles Le Breton
  2. Hi BRUMOS. Can we have a good picture of R8 track please. Great explanation of layout but a photo is hard to beat. It might be the last picture in the track post but not sure. Looking forward to the last three rounds. Regards Charles Le Breton (charlesx)
  3. Thanks for the good report Peter. I originally thought there were 12 rounds but apparently only 10. You have probably not noticed but R6 was my best result to date. Every mug has its day. Regards Charles Le Breton
  4. Agreed they look really good. Can you give me the Cat. number please. I presume Syd is still the MJK agent. Gave the Quick Slicks a run today. They were also good but just loose fitted with no sanding/truing. Thanks for your help. Regards Charles Le Breton
  5. Thanks Wobble but I need urethane tyres for Bathurst 1000 Proxy. I expect Slot-it tyres would fit if I wanted rubber. Appreciate help and Happy New Year. Hi Mattcrackers. No hurry but when you can would be good. I have not touched car since I bought except for a couple of laps. I may even have some suitable tyres myself. Not sure of MJK go off as I have had then for some time. Happy New Year to you too. Regards Charles Le Breton PS. Have had a look at my tyre stocks but the only suitable MJK tyres I have (subject to re-shaping on both sides) are 4231 Ninco sports. Others suitable ones I had included Super 1407C and I think some Quick Slicks but I have lost label.
  6. Hi Mattcrackers - Happy New Year. Trust your Christmas went well. My middle son and family returned to WA this morning so all is quiet again. Time for slot cars perhaps. Wondered if you ever got around to trying some MJK tyres on Scaly VL Holden. Regards and please pass onto Syd. Charles Le Breton
  7. Hi Peter/Brumos. Can we have a photo of the track please. Looks like my car liked this one a bit better. Thanks for the ride. Regards Charles Le Breton (charlesx)
  8. Peter thanks for the explanation re Delta. That makes sense but never heard before. Ta for your comments too Pepsi62. Will look at the results and comments when all comes out. Sounds like my car had its moments. Thinking it was near to end of the field. Talking about my car - it is 8 years old and has been absolutely thrashed by the grandkids. Still has the original Supergrips. I thought it would have been very easy to drive. Hence a GK favourite (ages 2-10). It is one of NSR Classic series. Regards Charles Le Breton (charlesx)
  9. Hi Peter. What is the delta. Have not heard the term as far as I recall. Thanks for report. Regards Charles Le Breton (charlesx)
  10. Thanks Peter. That looks fairly predictable as far as my car was concerned but some quite big differences (+ or -) with a few others. Regards Charles Le Breton
  11. Thanks Vinno but WA. Bathurst Proxy 1000 requires urethane tyres. I also normally replace Scaly tyres if rules allow. Regards Chas Le Breton
  12. Hi again Vinno. I got my Perkins/Hulme VL Holden today. Agree it is very heavy for a basic car at 85gms. As stated also slightly narrower at rear than Sierra and no room for improvement or even wider tyres. Wheelbase is however slightly longer. Apart from small size however weight of body at 36.7gms is worst feature based on what can be done with current Mandurah Bathurst 100 Proxy rules but that may not bother others. Body is at least 10gms heavier than basic Sierra so will be interesting to see how tippy it is when I try on track. Note your comment about grip of standard tyres but perhaps that is just weight of car. Regards Charles Le Breton (charlesx)
  13. Hi Shaynus. Got my VL Holden today but it is very small and heavy OTB (85gms). Slightly narrower than Sierra at rear but a bit longer in wheelbase. Would certainly be hard pushed to be competitive with Falcons or Camaro. Regards Charles Le Breton (charlesx)
  14. Thanks for the tips Vinno. Mine is due any day so hope to run in next years Mandurah Bathurst 1000 Proxy. Looking at your photos though appears tyre selection will be limited. No doubt MJK produce something that will fit but they may need to be modified to fit in the limited width available between the wheel arches. Regards Charles Le Breton (charlesx)
  15. Hi Oldman and Shaynus. My three cars arrived back safely yesterday. Gave them all a run today and they all clearly arrived back in good order. As I thought neither the Sierra nor Mini had any weight so perhaps something to look at now there is time available to trial. Even the Camaro might benefit as it is so much light than many of the cars. Agree the Mini however might benefit most if I can find anywhere to put it. Even as is however it did drive very smoothly as long as you did not push too hard but will tip if pushed. Our smooth tracks here however are so different so I think any weight added to Sierra would need to be very carefully placed as it appeares to be so well balanced. Thanks again for a great proxy and the safe return of my cars. I am expecting my new VL Holden any day so look forward to running that. Regards Charles Le Breton (charlesx)
  16. Peter thanks for keeping us briefed on progress with this event. Looking forward to qualifying and Round 1. Field looks great. Regards Charles Le Breton (charlesx)
  17. Thanks Oldman. I presume I owe nothing more. Will advise when cars arrive. Regards Charles Le Breton (charlesx)
  18. Hi Shaynus and Oldman. One suggestion from earlier proxies is to have maximum number for each type of car - say 5 falcons, 5 Camaros, 5 Sierras, 5 Holdens etc. Regards Charles Le Breton (charlesx)
  19. Hi Oldman, Shaynus and all. Once again thanks for all your good work and the great write-ups. Clearly my Sierra and Mini could do with some more work (probably weight) but it was great to see them survive to the end. All my cars I think had a standard Slot-it guide but motor in Sierra was a Thunderslot unit. Mini had a Slot-it 22000rpm Flat 6. Rear tyres were Paul Gauge and Dart. Front wheels/tyres on Mini were standard. Camaro motor was BSB 25000rpm from SCC in USA or something like that. Hoping to run the new VL Holden next year but still awaiting delivery. Regards to all. Charles Le Breton (charlesx)
  20. Congrats to Oldman in particular but also Shaynus and Tony on their podium positions. With a couple of heats to go the writing seemed to be on the wall for my Camaro so no surprise with my 4th. Again well done to all concerned for such a great event. Hoping to run a Holden next year but looking forward to running my Sierra and Mini when they get back. Thanks also for all the great reports and photos. Please put my winnings towards postage but let me know if I owe more. Regards Charles Le Breton (charlesx)
  21. Thanks Shaynus. Sounds like Mini was at least enjoyed and no doubt provided the odd laugh. What more can you ask for. I will still enjoy driving when it returns as I have never driven with body on. Perhaps it needs a little weight as I do not recall fitting any. Might try racing against the local Muscle cars. Regards Charles Le Breton (charlesx)
  22. Thanks Shaynus for the results and pictures. My Camaro seems to have continued its downward decline but perhaps it is leaving the best for the final. Great show by the improvers so final should be really interesting and result will be in doubt right up to the end. Thanks also for the pictures of my Mini and Sierra. At least they lasted to the end. Was also good to see the race footage and my Mini holding its own for a least a few laps before getting well and truly overtaken. Mini however did appear to be fairly sure footed - just slow at least around the corners so perhaps a conservative drive was necessary. Cannot wait to try at home when it gets back to NZ. Well done for all involved. Bring on the final. Regards Charles Le Breton (charlesx)
  23. Well done to Falcon XB No.9 to steal the top spot away from the regulars. Great to see BRUMOS RSR's Camaro No.17 beat me as well. Even my Sierra No.17 had its best result to date (7th). Best of luck to all for the last round. Regards Charles Le Breton (charlesx)
  24. Thanks for the great pics Alek. Regards Charles Le Breton (charlesx).
