  1. Looks good Nimrod. Print a few up and you could have your own Classic Commodore Cup series
  2. We send out the same message on an email and FB over the weekend reminding the guys of the venue and car classes for the upcoming Monday night's racing. This method is just a weekly reminder as we send out a programme at the start of the year that states all venues and classes from end of Jan to early Dec. approx. 45 weeks of racing per year. Has worked well for the past 10 years
  3. Wayne has the patience and engineering background to persevere with the "electickery" that is involved to go digital. I think we will all be pushing to use Wayne's cars for our first introduction to digital racing, when it happens
  4. Gday Alan, Waynes' new track which has its Grand Opening this Monday night is set up for digital, although the operators, hardware and soft ware are a little way off from being installed.

    Digital Track Design

Looks cool! a bit like Steve's where there are some fast sections then the tricky bits. I see you have maintained the McElroy sweeper in this new layout. I look forward to cutting some laps soon.

    Nico Rosberg Retires

Too much arrogance X2 for my liking

    Nico Rosberg Retires

Rosberg (Nico) said he was always worried as a kid that his dad would have a big crash and he didn't want his young child to go through the same feeling. I respect him for that... and as F1 World Champion.. Mission Accomplished
  8. If you always do what you always did, you will always get what you always got.
  9. Nice simple layout. As you have a bridge shouldn't both lanes be alot closer in length to each other?

    Car Spotting

Might I say I always look forward to seeing what the latest offerings are on this thread as they are always interesting ( me being in my late 40's and remembering a lot of the vehicles). But more importantly a big thankyou to Gazza, as we are creeping up to the 8th year anniversary of this thread, for starting this thread and contributing more than 50% (tbc) of the content. It is greatly appreciated by me, and I am sure by the 140,000+ viewers as well.

    New Shed New Track

[quote name=Camber' timestamp='1452080836' post='246060' Apologies for hijacking the thread, but this is my dream track...Dicke Berta. At 52m long it has everything, at a pinch with low numbers you could even marshall it with 4 people. I would love to race this track, one day I'll build something similar. For several reasons, I'd be inclined to reverse the track direction though. Yes, apologies too for hijacking the thread, but that track is huge and looks like a good track to drive. Pete, SCR would be interested in running one of our fun nights on your track during the year if your receptive?

    New Shed New Track

Looking really good Pete. Just wipe over the surface with a damp cloth to pick up any dust before you race each time and you wont have a problem with grip.

    New Shed New Track

3mm MDF will be strong enough Pete. All my borders are 3mm MDF and are plenty strong enough. And I do like the look of your layout. Coming along nicely
  14. Looking very slick Alan. Good job. Looking forward to running some laps on it soon.
  15. Wayne is pretty cluey on the Arduino set up thingy.. 100mm deadstrips with a 10mm gap at each end between the live braid
  16. Well a good night was had by all at the enduro last night, with all cars running smoothly. Thanks to John, Dave and Mike for hosting the championship Finishing order
  17. Aaahh those were the days! You didn't want to do it too many times though. The little "pins" started to wear out after a while. Good job on the reliveries DM. Very nice.
  18. Hi all, I had the pleasure of driving a lane for Alan again this year, and has been the case in the last 2 year's, it was good fun with some very enjoyable cars to drive. Some lacked a bit of grip and others some weight in the right places would've made them a bit quicker and easier drive. @Phil, John Batiches car did have some electrical problems ( burning smell) in the first heat with indifferent power issues, but we pressed on and it seemed to rectify itself in heat 2 as it was a very good car to drive IMO. Shame heat 1 robbed him of a higher placing. @DM, I really enjoyed driving your jallopy, it was right up there as one of my faves for the night. Well done. Thanks to the Broke Organisation for the hospitality, catering and letting me drive these little beauties again. Well done to all participants for taking the time to prep and enter these cars, it was good fun, as usual. Kane.
  19. On both my tracks I have printed signage onto quality gloss photo paper then layed a sheet of "instant laminate" ( like the old clear contact for covering school books) from Officeworks. They come in A4 size. I then use a sharp knife and straightedge to cut up to size and height then stick them to my MDF borders with UHU glue in a tube. It is like Tarzans grip. ( also available from Oworks). It isn't water based so the paper doesn't bubble. My signage is still as colorful and sharp as the day they went on. It is easy and clean to do and inexpensive. The other advantage of using the instant laminate is it gives the sign a hard resilient coating that takes a few car impacts without tearing or damaging the actually sign. In fact I have colored marks on my signs from the cars bumper and panel paint. Just like the real thing! In the second pic you can see the gloss on the Lone Pine sign I have wondered why they haven't faded and Embers explanation of not giving the surface air explains it all. You learn something new everyday!
  20. Rick is alive and well and still in Adelaide. He is still running 1/24ths in the South of Adelaide. I think his work and family has taken away his time previously spent on the 'puter.
  21. Happy Birthday Alan. I hope you have your new track up and running so you can test those birthday pressies!
