  1. I do not know what CW08 will be. But here is some interesting news, a Laguna Seca Chappie 2E 2 car winners set. See here: Chappy 2E Can Am Winners Set They could give it a new numbering schema like they did for the Ferrari 312PB Targa Florio 2 cars set...maybe KW02. If CW08 is something else, then that will be icing on the cake for me :bday: Makes one wonder though....why do the manufacturers tell anyone, anything before their big unveiling in Nurnburg, as it kinda takes the air out of their sails so to speak...news circulates the web faster than you can say Slot.it....uuuuunless...these leaks are there as part of their marketing to create some excitement. Cheers,eh!
  2. thanks Bo manimmal first thing I did was remove the tyres to see if I had anything that would fit - didn't have anything so drove it stock, pleased with the grip no slipping and sliding I then gave them a very light sand, I will still change the tyres for some urethanes but considering some tyres are really ordinary I am pleased I will be able to drive it until I get some alternative tyres ready. cheers DM I left the running gear alone and did some minimal mods, basically urethane tires and a new guide....with very good results, see video (sorry, don't know how to embed vids here yet):
  3. I wouldn't worry so much about fitting a particular design into your space, but rather the flow you'll get from the track. My second track is about 2-3m shorter lap length than my first one (Tanglewood) but so much more fun to drive. The 'main' part of the room (3.5m x 3m) for my track is smaller than your room, so you should be able to get a nice track in your space. I've got a 3 laner and mine's quite narrow, about 2m narrow at its widest point down to 1.5m in certain spots. It's a shade over 4m long, with an average lap length just over 16m: Mugello I'd really recommend drawing your designs on graph paper to scale to get a feel for size and potential flow before routing or getting it routed - plus don't forget some up & down elevation changes Cheers, eh!
  4. Hey D-Mouse, I also like the look of the racing lines through the turns. Before I did my 2nd track, I drew out my track "shape", if you will, before getting into details about routing & racing lines: Check out this post to see how I drew my track, then drew in my racing lines. Track Plan Then when I drew it out on the MDF, I not only marked where the routed slots and skid aprons would be, but also the edges of the 'pavement': Drawn out on MDF It's not exactly high tech, but with some careful planning, it can look pretty good IMHO. Cheers,eh!
