    Hbmrc Enduro

hi slots, munter, grego, more than an enjoyable weekend, even though we had to come to terms with driving a mag car (two of them) .....no not mags my teammates, plus tuning the car to the track for not only downforce but cornering and straight line speed, we learnt alot and will definitely be back, sooner rather than later as well.....and we might bring another team to fill that vacant spot/llane, if another team dosent come to the party(which by the way was pretty good) every thing went really well but next time i think we should fix the cars during the race and have less stops time wise between heats, just like the real thing they dont stop between laps!! all in all ........excellent fun and it was really great to meet some new people and put faces to names! as for our track if your keen well sort something out probably for next year early on??

    Slot It White Kits

your local model shop should have a form of CA glue which dries clear and of they dont have it then they should be shot!, used on all common plastic model kits, you cn be really sloppy with it as well........go bugger what a mess.....go away all disgruntled then come back and go that looks great!! if you get over spill do not touch it it will dry clear as! its a gel type thing and takes a while to go off best ove night and sticks to paint , but be aware it will soften the paint to bond thats why i say dont touch it as it will do what most glues do cloud and smudge your paint work.

    Ortman Tyres

i have ortmans on a formula oneand rce it on plastic track , had to sand the hell out if them to get them round, best tyre for fast on a formula one that i have found, but really bad for round, used same car on two pot surface has grip but tyres still not round!!, the wood really shows up out of round tyres, not like plastic thats for sure! why people ban indys no idea, they are round from the packet , grip like anything and they dont wear that much, if its a silicone thing leaving residue on the track,(which they dont) i think they think they are racing big cars not toy cars.......or its purely a commercial decision or to even things up........
  5. and if ya come from west virginia, a ute is not a pick up unless it has a gun rack attatched! when i was living over there (just recently returned) i followed a guy on the interstate 95, i did"nt really need to read his plates(which all have the state of origin on them) because he had a large nascar sticker on the rear windscreen accompanied by another large sticker from the NRA or national rifle association, these were both firmly attacthed to the rear windscreen of his ute=pickup. he was from virginia, heading to maryland

    Revell Bmw 320

they go like stink, the tyres are crap, and the rims are not much better, i couldnt get indys for it, so just to mkae life a little more complicated i used my method for truing rims and used indys from a lola that fit great when the rims have been trued and the wide with of the rib cut downa little on each side. this all had the effect of "balancing the rims" and the indys helped give a true tire. With the car in mag form its an absolute rocket, so what if it has a motor in the front, its still fast, i have also used this car on a very smooth two potted track(which shows up any untrue tyre rim combo) and it still had a bit of hop that you dont notice on a magged plastic track, anyway witha little more truing and playing with it will be a great little car on this surface as well, they look great and i would get one...."just because" just need a little work but not as much as some fly cars!
  7. very very kool! any pics of the blow by blow reaint, what paints did you use? decals where from, something that nice we like all the gory details!
  8. that looks good blue, what motor did you use and how does it compare to the stang? have you got a shot of it upside down, how much did you have to shave off the interior?? sorry about the questions.....just interested
  9. what mods gary? silver sun visor for one i see, bigger front wheels?, did you paint the driver the right colours?? was it yellow helmet and blue suit? if you have lifted the front did you know a slot it SICH07 for (wood track) OR SICH10 pick ups are direct fit for cars with the blue guides, or does this have a round guide plate how do you intend to do the hood scoop.........i was thinking of a 4 or 5mm thick piece of plastistruct(styrene) and shaped and dremmled to fit
  10. cant review on looks alone my friend....we have no idea how these cars go it might be a real dunger and we"ll spend alot of money for nothing....someone has to go um...........first! can you break it down into the following looks..............wheels and tyres...........interior............body off...........body on, acceleration test....braking.....cornering speed.........etc etc...oh and is red faster than yellow?? cheers mate!
  11. looks like you have been having too much of a good time instead of getting your priorities right matticus great night out with the ladies?....or racing slot cars with guys....hmmmmn........just rehinge the netting gates!! look forward to some more pictures especially of the harbour bridge, flown over it but havent been to syyyyddnneeyyyy yet

    New 3 Laner Routed

hey david, must have cost you a fortune in photo paper to take the rock wall effect through to the walls on your shed that whole set up looks so sweet, congrats on not actually running a car on it (or admitting it) before you finished! scenery is subtle yet not overpowering what plans do you have for the pit section? cheers rhys
  13. sorry to drag this abck up to the top....but.......ok the motor is in the back of the nsu and arbath in real life, so answer me this, is the open boot for cooling, areo, or just cause they can?? by the way those little monogram cars are just so damn cute......not as much mag on the nsu as some of the other "mini monograms" so when racing them magged theres a big difference in thier performance level.....and fast........wholly cow!!!
  14. actually i did and they are out of stock of everything, virtually littlebit of free advertising you should hit them up for some freebies!
  15. looking good blue, did you use a rattle can? add a bit of black to the red if using a airbrush next question, how easily did the kit wheels slip onto the slot-it axels?, do they turn out true? actually looking at the second picture the colour is pretty close the third pic its way different, were they the same colour in real life? also it looks like you took some time painting the wheels they look quite nice yeah gazza, currently sitting in a hotel in virginia,USA for a few weeks before getting on a plane home, and did some trawling thru the old threads and saw your two transams, they look sharp, you must be very paitent to add all of that putty and then shape it, sand it as smooth as these little bodies allow and then get a finished result, i bet it skates as well with the slot it chassis and the added weight of the putty, its one mean looking car and i think the wing sets it off brilliantly. I like the styrene, with the right glue it sets up pretty quickly, is fairly stable to play with and takes paint well. keep those pics coming blue, one of the underneath would be great as well cheers rhys
